Revell 1/72 Hawker Hurricane - my first here

Hi guys,

My first model I would show to anyone so please don't go hard on me - Hawker Hurricane Mk IIb from Revell 1/72 scale.
I used Tamiya XF-21 for underside and XF-72, XF-61 for upper camo.
Here I prepared it for decals with X-22 Tamiya Clear mixed 50:50 with Mr.Color Leveling Thinner and sprayed Thinner on top straigh after. I applied thin coats and it doesn't look shiny, even a bit pearl-ish I would say, but definitely smooth. Is it normal with Tamiya X-22? Do you use it?

Hi Kris, to me looks really nice the paint is nicely done really well done.
regarding the clear coat, with X-22 Tamiya Clear mixed 50:50 with Mr.Color Levelling, I never tested... yet, I have few bottles of Alclad aqua gloss to finish first. However i know Paul and few other guys uses this technique, it might work have a look to Paul videos and see if he mentions anything. Quick question how many layers did you give? was one very thin or multiple?

Hello! I use that method to clear coat before decals. I usually spray two coats and then I put the decals on. I then clear coat again over the decals. Finally I paint clear aqueous flat over it if it calls for flat coat. If you look at the Tamiya swordfish as well as The wingnut wings salmson on the WIP thread both of them were done with this method. You don't need to spray thinner over it.
