OK my unfinished F-4J Phantom II :( :( Had a blast in trying my first group build. Things got in the way, life, work, sick, hand surgery :(

Well I also tried my first buffing the canopy :jd: I used a fingernail polisher/buffer. It has four sides, file (feels like 400 or 800 grit), buff, polish, shine. I use the file and buff with a little water then polish and shine not using water and well not a good job at all.

Thanks to Guy and everyone else. I had a fun time to see if I could finish in time. I'm not done yet...I need to finish it. Change of plans how I'm going to finish it. Stay tuned to my you tube and FB :D

Fun is the priority in this hobby.....life gets in its way and the hobby takes a backseat. No worries.
Finish it off when you heal up, don't worry your thread will stay alive

For the canopy, if you dip it in acrylic, Future floor shine for example, all those scratches disappear.Look it up on the internet, lots of info.
Nail polish clear acrylic is a bit too thick but you could test it on a clear sprue part
Good luck, hang in there

Please do! I'm late, but trying. It's not the destination but they journey, and health comes first.

Guy, thanks for doing this and making the vid, you're tops in my book :cheers2:

The first time I did the future dip, it blew me away!!
Just don't fondle the canopy after its swim. Touch an edge to take off extra and then set it down somewhere safe away from dust and elbows!

When I did the P-51 (and I THOUGHT the Phantom) I left a bit of runner on a part that wouldn't be visible and handled that. Left it under a cup for a while to let it dry (with a small gap at the base to ventilate). Still looks shiny! On the Mustang, at any rate :?
