"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?" - A NEW SEGMENT OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S ISM LIVE "AT THE BENCH" SHOW!

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, March 10th*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

Image Games workshops Nagash, supreme lord of the undead, a complex kit by gw's standards although highly detailed. Paint is a mix of vallejo model and game air, model and game colour along with citadel paints and shades.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.
My motto? I'm not lazy, just energy efficient.

Oh that one ^ is super creepy, I won't sleep for weeks now!!

So, I am officially on a modelling holiday, but just for my buddy Dan, Danno, Dan the man I am making a project

A Phantom Spook character from this 9cm photo and Milliput
Plywood disk scrounged from something in my house's construction and painted with Mr Surfacer500 for smoothness
Evergreen styrene Roman Numerals traced and then cut out
Milliput eye whites painted Mr Base White 1000 and covered with micro crystal clear for shine
Black milliput pupils painted Ultimate primer

Image

Working on the milliput body shape and then figure out cape, collar, hat and feets/shoes
There is a resin kit for this guy, costing a small fortune and and I was so pissed that it was expensive, I decided to go commando and make it myself.
:cheers2: guys, Happy Friday

So far, so good on this Tamiya 1/72 Lockheed Martin F-16CJ [BLOCK50] Fighting Falcon! (Kit #60786, not to be confused with #60788, same aircraft “with Full Equipment.”) Typical of Tamiya, this kit has gone together with no hassles. No aftermarket added, but I did scratchbuild a teeny tiny little ejection handle that you can just barely see in the photo.

Image

Primed all over with black Stynylrez, underside then covered with Vallejo Light Ghost Grey primer (70.615), topside with Vallejo Model Air USAF Medium Grey (71.275), Medium Gunship Grey (71.097), and Ocean Grey (71.273, nose).

Still to do: landing gear and missiles, then decals and some light weathering. (No, I’m not building it as a convertible; I took off the canopy for the photo.) Cheers!

1/48 Italeri Boston III. More filler than plastic and the parts fit where they meet, one of those kits you are tempted daily to bin. Plus I have to mask the zillion panels of transparencies by hand as I can't find a mask set for it. But no, I will conquer it. It's ready for primer.

Showed progress of this before but now finished, Tamiya 1/48 V1 flying bomb. Ultimate black primer on V1 and dolly, a mix of mr hobby aqueous paints to make a dark colour then dry brushed with Citadel Necron compound to give a worn metal appearance on the dolly. V1 painted with xtracrylix RLM 71 and RLM 65 colours. Used Ultimate dark dirt wash then Alclad Klear Kote matte. Some scratches made with metallic silver pencil to show moveing and handling damage, cheers :th:

I have gloss coated my 1/35 Italeri Panther A ready for decals and fav part weathering.

Stock kit with airwaves Photo etch set, primed in Ultimate black primer and painted in Mr Hobby Aqueous.

I will be depicting this knocked out and in a winter camo scheme hence missing spare tracks and Mgs.

some nice builds going on guys :th:

so this week, i have been mostly building this.

Image

after my last two kits ended up being thrown in the bin, i needed something i knew would build well. a visit to Nikki at Vetranus got me this Hobby Boss 1/48 Embrear Super Tucano.

as expected, it went together with no problems, just a small amount of filler here and there. mainly around the windscreen part of the canopy.

i went with a ficticious paint/decal scheme as i didnt like the kit schemes. the us bought a few of these (designated A-29) after a contest with the new texan. unfortunatly the order was cancelled, although some have been supplied to the afghan national army. (dont go there!). sooooo, i did a what if US Navy scheme using decals from my spares.

primed in Ultimate black primer. painted in mig ammo light grey under, grey blue upper. black trim is Ultimate black primer. undercarriage and other white parts are tamiya x-2 white. stores are a mix of mig ammo, tamiya and vallejo model air. exhausts are vallejo metal color duraluminum and exhaust manifold.

glossed in alclad aqua gloss. decals from the decal dungeon, bedded down with daco products strong decal solution (its super strong and beats the pants off micro sol!)

matt varnish is daler and rowney acrylic medium soluable matt varnish. light weathering and exhaust stains are Ultimate dark dirt wash again.

point to note, its a tail sitter at the moment. forward of the canopy is full of lead shot, as is the front wheel well, even the front half of the drop tank has lead shot in it!! short of pulling the canopy off, im not sure what ill do about this yet. it may have to be put on a small base and glued down.

anyway, thats it. hope you enjoy reading it all Dan, i tried to keep it short, lol! cheers buddy :th: :th:

Looks like Nev and I are doing similar builds here :th:

I am working on Tamiya's 1-35th Panther A kit #35065 right now with the Eduard PE set. This is my first time with PE, and it's been a wild ride. I only lost one piece, though, so I think it is Quentin: 1 PE: 0.

I'm up to the priming stage as of today. I used the Ultimate black primer, which has now lasted for five kits and is still reasonably full. I'm planning on using Tamiya paints for the camo, as I have a lot lying around. I have some Vallejo Model Air that sprays better, but the Tamiya is a little better colorwise for this Normandy campaign build.

I've spent the week wedging the Czech Masters interior sets into my Tamiya StuG. The driver's section is pretty much done and now working back into the fighting compartment. Most of the main components are dry fitted in this shot as they'll be removed for painting.

Name: Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I Early Production 35216
Aftermarket: Tamiya PE grills and an Aber 8,8mm KwK 36 L/56 barrel for the early model Tiger I.
Paint: none as of yet; but, I'll prime it in Ultimate Black!

Got the mojo back with a Panzer IV model; now I'm starting my 3rd armor kit, the venerable Tiger I. I'm planning on making this into an Eastern front Tiger. Should be good fun taking a crack at winter camo schemes.

Cheers!

I missed a few builds on last night's show, that Tucano is looking great but everything else is equally good... i was thinking of throwing a pic of what i've been building in here but the quality of the work shown makes me a bit ashamed to show my stuff...
Maybe i'll join in for next week's show.

It is true, i've seen nothing but good vibes in the ISM forum and all related to it, i don't have many modelling friends so the live shows are really very welcome, love watching them. :th:
Ok, you guys convinced me, i'll join in when the thread for next Friday's show is started. Thanks again! :thumb1:

Mine are pretty crap to be honest compared to some of the stuff on here but I enjoy building, I don't enter shows or anything or belong to a club (in fact I see this place as being my club) but there's nothing like sticking your model on your display shelf or cabinet and thinking 'I did that'. Be proud of your stuff, doesn't matter what level you are at as long as you 've given it your best shot. No one on here will criticise unless you ask for constructive criticism. I look forward to seeing your stuff next Friday!

This is what i mean with good vibes!: Thank you!
I enjoy modelling a lot, since i got back into it in 2013, i'm addicted... I like to learn with each model i build so it's always fun, and i do like what i build, but i also know it's not up to the high standards i see in most of what's shown around here and on the live shows. The thing is that i like to build what-ifs, it's mostly what i do, but i also know a lot of people look down on that type of modelling so i'm always cautious as to where and when i show my stuff.
Again, thanks to all you guys for the support, it's much appreciated! :cheers2:
