"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?" - A NEW SEGMENT OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S ISM LIVE "AT THE BENCH" SHOW!

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, March 31st*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

Taking a break this week from the Zoid to finish the End is Nigh (hopefully). In the mean time I managed to finish up the F-4 for Guy's SiG, an Academy 1/72 done with Y-Wing colors and Star Wars markings. Marking (Aurabesh language) made with home made decals and about 2/3 of the seriously terrible Academy decals.

It'll probably go into a box someday but it was fun to try some stuff out.

Fab little Phantom and stunning X-wing.

Another week another Wing nut Wings completed, this is most unlike me.

Gone for an inter-war scheme on this Snipe for something different, Wing nut Wings Sopwith Snipe Late 1/32 - painted with Citadel rattle cans and washes with a mix of AK telegraph wires and EZ fishing line for rigging.

More work this week on my 1/35 Tamiya StuG.

It's been closed up, primed with Ultimate Black, base coated with Vallejo model air Panzer Grey and then a coat of Model Air anthracite grey. It was then given a primary basic weathering with a dark dirt clay wash and then sealed up with AK Interactive Ultra Matte. The road wheels were painted the same way with the tyres brush painted with Tamiya Rubber Black. The tracks are Kaizen workable links - at present all the running gear is dry fitted to allow further weathering (same with the gun barrel).

Finally I positioned it in the Miniart building that I put together during Jan/Feb to make sure it fitted into the intended space - now I've got four weeks left to white-wash & finish detailing the StuG and make winter happen!

Is my group of Avengers considered one project? If this violates the rules, Please remove.

These are my 1/350 Grumman TBM-1 Avengers VT-10 (The Buzzard Brigade) for an upcoming ship build. I will be building Merit’s Aircraft Carrier Enterprise CV-6 at the Battle of Santa Cruz, October 26, 1942.
Although I show 14 planes, on that day there were only 10 operational TBF-1’s with 1 being the Carrier Air Group.

Kits used are Merit, Trumpeter and Hasegawa with Tom’s Model Works PE, Alliance Model Works PE Dynamic Propellers and Starfighter Decals for the Battle of Santa Cruz. EACH plane has 10 pieces of PE and 8 decals added. MIG Paints and Washes were used.

Hello Danno et al. Refurbing a 1987-ish Porsche 911 Slant nose model
Junkyard 1/24 Monogram car $6 from e bay..$14 shipping mind you. Missing a couple parts unfortunately, but will scratch them
I am stripping the entire car of its paint
Photo has Fujimi mags/wheels placed for fun and evaluation..... Fujimi makes very nice aftermarket wheels fyi
build thread here:viewtopic.php?f=39&t=21871

Easy off gel oven cleaner in the glass container. Interior is swimming in the oven cleaner
You can do this in a sealed Ziplock bag as well...probably do that for the body
I find this cleaner sprays on easy, has nice lemon smell and no residue after washed away
Bleach works too, but is stinkier and not a gel so messy and splashes on clothes and everything else too; at least in my hands it is messy
I NEVER leave anything soaking overnight or unattended...you can destroy the plastic too easily

Howdy all!

Been throwing together this Raiden to give me a something to do while my GB Tiger I is drying between coats. Straight out of the box for this one.

Tamiya 1/48 J2M3 Raiden "Jack"

Exterior:
Ultimate Black Primer
Mix of XF-yellow and XF-red for the ID stripes (about 90:10 mix)
Trying out Micro sol/set masking fluid on this one.

Left the cowl in Ultimate Primer Black, we'll see if this works out or not with all the masking and such. Could be dicey, haven't tested this method or read anything about it. Though the masking fluid label didn't seem like it was going to like the acrylic primer coat. HERE'S TO SCIENCE EXPERIMENTATION!

Interior:
Ultimate Black primer
Vallejo Air Green Zinc Chromate
X-18 Semi Gloss Black for the black bits.
XF-2 flat white was applied via dry brushing.
A bit of Vallejo Metal Air Steel on some weathering stuff.

Planning on a mix of XF-80 (Royal Light Grey) and XF-76 (Grey Green IJN) for the underside. Top will be XF-26 Deep Green unless I convince myself otherwise.

Cheers!

Started building my second kit...Airfix Folland Gnat Red Arrow 1/48.
Building out of the box using Tamiya paints where possible.
The cockpit decals are pretty bland so I decided to have a crack at doing the control panels myself. No fine brushes in my arsenal yet, so did the whole thing with cocktail sticks. Took a fair bit of time but I'm pretty chuffed with the result.
Gave it a bit of a drybrush and a coat of Klear (sorry Dan) then a light wash with Flory Grime. I didn't want to go too mad on weathering...figuring that it would have been kept fairly clean as a display aircraft.
Finished with a coat of Testors Dulcote.

Managed to get my Stuka done before the deadline. It's the 1/48 Hasegawa B-2 with parts from a Aires cockpit and gun bay, Quickboost seats and the decals are a mix of Airfix for the stencils, Xtradecal for the british markings and Rop o.s. for the Italian ones. Everything was painted in MR Paints RLM02, 04, 65, 70 and 71, cleared with Aqua gloss and weathered using UMD Dark dirt, everything was then cleared using MR Paints Super clear matt. And some chipping was applied using Humbrol 11 on a sponge and finally some light earth pigments.

This week I got the mud applied and tracks installed on my 1/35 Trumpeter KV-1

Products used were plaster, craft acrylic, several shades of pigments, graphite for the worn metal areas, ak wet effects and wilder pigment fixer.

I need to touch up a couple of areas but it's almost complete.
