Finally back to some model time got my space back loads assembled now I can get back to painting. Bought this Tameo kit ages ago and sort of gave up on 43rd scale builds after my eye sight deteriorated considerably after being diagnosed with diabetes and going on to insulin. Any how thought I may as well attempt them rather than them going to waste, already posted the Brabham BT44 and this more of a wip build.
Tameo kits are all white metal p/e and turned aluminium kits and as with most multi media kits require quiet a lot of clean up and fettling and plenty of test fitting, before committing to glue. The body and chassis are sanded and filed to remove the flash then polished with a wire brush in the Dremel, then the various holes opened up for the suspension and other parts, the engine is given the same treatment. Then onto the etch bits, removed from the frames and bent according to the instructions, and then added to the tub and engine as required. I build as much as possible before priming to ensure good fit of parts and a strong join for the super glue. Then some detailing, wiring the ignition leads and some of the engine plumbing, the whole lot then primed using Standox etching primer which gives a great base before painting. Now some top coats, chassis, and body interior sprayed Tamiya XF1 thinned wit cellulose, and the body with Tamiya X1 again thinned similarly. This has been left well alone in a covered plastic tub for 3 weeks so I know it is well and truly dry. Next up will be to pick out the details on the suspension brakes and the engine and gearbox.
