I've seen signs of eccentricity in his posts during the house build but he's not a complete nut case! Trashing the house by throwing a party?

No way Dude, not gonna happen.

And I don't blame him! :th: If I'd poured my blood, sweat and tears into a place like that I wouldn't even let my family in it

They just need to be appropriately dressed so they don't muck up the new furnishings.

Ahh you guys are funny

Got a couple of smart TV's on Boxing Day...they finally got delivered and set up.
Of course the cable box is wrong and we don't have the cable package signed on yet. I got the old box working for a day and then they cut me off mid hockey game. So no normal cable tv for the moment.
So I went on u tube and played this guy while I did the dishes
Image

He didn't help me with washing OR drying but was good company

Took a bit of me time this afternoon and cleaned up the workshop a bit.
Moved the large blue base cabinets to support the boxed worksurface to see what it looked like roughly oriented
I will do the three uppers along this wall side by side by side
Image
Nice to move some stuff, chuck some out, condense some boxes and just make it less messy
Pic of the ceiling. There are six LED pot lights, two air conditioning outlets and best of all speakers in the ceiling controlled by an app called Sonos...love that, can have music in different rooms linked or on their own.
Image
Put the handles on the base cabs just for fun
Image
ImageLONG WAY to go still, gotta think how I am going to get all the machinery in here  :

Ahh yes, can't slip nothing past you Commonwealth folk
Not for TV, geeze I can't stand those darn time wasters. The wallspace has hardware computer connections to allow time wasting surfing already.
I have an outlet up there for a mid floor source of power. That way can have a plug or light come down into the middle of a workbench or table saw. I may even put up a bit of a winch or wench, one of the two, on the ceiling to lift stuff

You can see I had all seams left untaped on ceiling and walls have visible screws for easy finding the joists
Love that!!

Hi Raj,
Been working on installing closets....not so exciting
Have almost got all the closet boxes and paraphernalia out of my workshop space...it it the dumping ground/ storage space it seems. Maybe staging area is a better way to put it.
We had to move in a bit earlier than full completion, so things are a bit of a mess still. One part hinges on other parts finishing off that hinges on something else getting done and depends on the weather and everyone is too busy now and on and on.
Kinda have to go with the flow to not go bonkers
Weather has killed us with snow, frost and now rainy time. Once it is ok to pour concrete, I can move stuff into the workshop and start organizing the garage as well.
I will do some more photos soon as the model studio develops when a spray booth arrives from the UK
:cheers2:

Hi Scott

I know that feeling. When I was getting my apartment's interiors done, the contractor promised he'll finish in 8 maximum 10 months. 16 months later i was ready to throw him under a train. I only had the contractor to worry about and i came this close to ending up in a strait jacket. You have a ton of factors to cater for.....and haven't lost your marbles  I really admire your patience. Can't wait to see pictures of the finished house...especially the man cave
Cheers :cheers2:

Haha Luaus :D The big deck on the other side will be better for that

I do like the awning or something tentish that I could put up and take down as needed.

What you really need is a indoor heated pool with the artificial palm tree, deck, table and that glass of rum.
Actually speaking of rum reminded me of an afternoon spent at the local pub hanging out with my daughter who has just gone back to New York. It was so nice . She was one of the victims in the marriage break up. I never spent much face time with her...plenty of phone calls, but it's not the same. We are friends now. It wasn't just one sided she also commented how great it was. What I'm trying to say is I consumed much rum that arvo and had to explain what a wedge was when I was drinking 2 to her 1. I was still in good order when we left.
back to topic....any room left in your backyard for future projects.

Thanks....it's a bit more fiddly than you might notice. All those asbestos sheets are screwed on and I'm trying to lay tiles over them. Means I have been using a drill to create a recess in the tile to fit over the screw. Could do with a little rum myself right now.

Plumbing and tiling are not for me, no sir

Today, family is breaking up some mortar, digging and levelling gravel and installing two more sections of strip drains for the driveway. More drama to the story
The landscaper and the concrete guy have not been talking and then are arguing through my wife and our helper. So no meeting of the minds on the driveway drain, how long and where it goes. The landscaper has banged at it twice and the concrete guy is still not happy with position and length. Landscaper says he is being "too picky". Wife in a flap.
I said just ask where to get more drain and we will do it ourselves so we can pour on Monday or Tuesday
Fun way to spend a Sunday :D
Sometimes just better to do it yourself

would lean on the side of the concreter, anyone who says you are being picky is the wrong guy. Had that experience with a shed builder. Needless to say his work wasn't great and I should have known. One look at his tools (abused ) and we should have sent him on his way.

Now purely for market research and world stability...where would one find such a coffee shop ????
If said person had a course in Seattle in August and might just need a look...oh I mean latte

I got the best coffee one time pulling off I5 and going to a little drive through shack...no bikinis though :

OOooo I googled it, found like seven of them without even trying
I would love to see the wife's reaction to pulling up to one of the stands  ...and then I would be shot

For whatever reason those coffee shacks are a "thing" in Seattle. Not complaining, it's just odd how common they are here.

Hmmm... one of my old schoolmates is relocating to Seattle at the moment, looks like I may need to make a trip over at some point to visit him, and maybe have a coffee somewhere... with mermaids... or did I mix the stories up in my day-dreaming...
