Hi, I'm Billy. A total modelling novice.

I was being dragged around the local Hobbycraft store to pay for things my little one could glue to the walls and was drawn to the modelling section. After deciding to give it a go, I'm hooked.

Who'd of thought that sanding plastic could be so relaxing and then trying to glue it together so bloody frustrating.

I've massacred a bell huey but am making a pretty good job of the airfix db9 1:32. Starting small but I am already falling into the 'stash' of projects. Mostly cars. But stupidly a dragon tauchpanzer kit as well (it looked cool and I'm a bloke). Quickly realising on opening the box, that it was like putting a 4 year old in the space shuttle and expecting them to complete a mission.

As my careers officer at school kindly told me many years ago when when I said I wanted to be a fighter pilot. 'It's definitely something to aspire to'.

Well Mrs McKenzie who wore the same wooly tights for 5 years and smelled overpoweringly of Yardley Gold. I may never have piloted a military jet, but I damn well will build an accurate scale representation of one. The Dragon kit might have to wait though.

Looking forward to sapping the knowledge from the artists amongst you and hopefully sharing the results. Good or bad
