This is going to be fun here is the progress done in Two nights working for about 4 hours each night.


this is not a quick build



Very little progress, I spend a lot of time dry fitting and checking the cockpit fit , The PE are great but they are not for this kit, this PE are the Hasegawa version and not for this Italeri.
I really believed that been the same RF-4E phantom II that the cockpit where similar or at least similar enough to fit the this PE , Wrong!!!!, I have to shoehorn the frak out of it and some damage is going to be inevitable, this build is going down very quickly something has to be done.

Great subject Antonio, I'm sure you will master the issues you have had so far mate. It,s incredible how different kit manufacturers vary so much when representing the same subjects, ie the Hasegawa cockpit vs the Italeri one or the Revell F4C vs the Academy one.

Thanks mate you are absolutely right and is very frustrating, also is my second time using PE and i am doing a big mess out of it because I am trying to shoehorn in it.

Not happy at all how i removed this injector pins and i did some real mess not happy




the N15 is not the right one Italeri!!!! It is the Number 16

so i decided to give another go to clean the injectors pins, i will spay painted tomorrow and check the result.

Finally some updates on the Phantom
Try to recreate the camera lenses using PVC

Your doing well pal. Ive got the E version and it looks horrid the biggest shock is the way they have joined the front and rear fuselage together which makes it look like a retooled hasegawa so i would have thought the same with the pe.
Ill follow with interest at least ill know what im getting into.

Thanks Simon for following my build, I am been away from bench and so my progress has been really slow, mostly I spend time filling and sanding all dose painful joins, in particular the air intakes to the main fuselage, probably was me not able to fill them right, but i could not get them right.. I hope to get this thing done soon rather than later it is a mojo killer, for me this build.

Yeah the PE was a bad choice but when i look the cockpit it looks really nice.

Here some updates, it took me very long time to do the filling and sanding, the spine I had to filled twice and let cure for a month because I could see after some time the gap reappearing. Same thing on the air intakes, very frustrating and definitely a mojo killer.
So I left the Phantom on the shelf for some time, last few days I decided to make the last check and to prime it with Ultimate Black primer.
