Hello from USA/Germany

American ex-pat living in Germany here. Used to be big into modeling years ago (IPMS membership, multiple IPMS convention attendee/model contest entries, etc.), then home ownership and marriage intruded and got away from the hobby. Many years later, divorced and recently moved to Germany for a job, don't have to worry about the wife or house (renting it out back home and property management firm takes care of it, living in an apartment here), finally rediscovered the hobby last year after 20 years away from it. Boy, how things have changed! No IPMS chapters near me or hobby shops in close proximity (nearest is in Munich, 2 hours away), but mail order from online retailers is a blessing! 1/35 armor/military vehicles is and will always be my first love, but I've recently been getting into 1/48 scale, mainly because there are plenty of aircraft and more and more vehicles available in that scale, so you can make dioramas combining both. Also started getting into 1/72 aircraft, because they're usually quick builds that don't require a whole lot of extra super-detailing, and take up very little display space. Probably at least 90% of what I do is WWII, but working on a US Army base I'm getting more interested in modern armor as well.
