Eduard 1/48 Hellcat

Thought I would do the second Hellcat from the Eduard dual combo kit for this SIG. It's a nice kit with not many problems, the plan is to do the one with D-day stripes.


















When I build the first kit I had a small accident and destroyed the rear half of the fuselage. So I used the one from the second kit, cut it apart and made a resin copy of it.




Have build the cockpit, OOB with the included PE and painted in MR Paints cockpit green. After everything was painted and build I added a dark brown oil wash and a little bit of earth colored pigments to the floor.

Made some more progress on this. The fuselage and wings went together without any problem and hardly needed any filler and just a little bit of sanding. Also got some Ultimate black primer on it in preparation for paint.

Time for another small update. I've got all the painting done.
I used MR Paints dark sea grey, dark green and sky.



I then masked off the full area of the invasion stripes and painted it white. The white stripes where then masked using three 3 mm strips of tape for each stripe, this should be pretty close to the width of the stripes.



And painted the black.



Need to add some weathering as the white stripes are a bit too white.
