1/48 Tarangus JA37Di Viggen, happy 50th birthday Viggen

[JonMW]

On February the 8th the Viggen turns 50 years old so I wanted to build another one for this special day. So picked up another kit with some extra PE for the cockpit, exhaust, resin canards, wheel bays, RAT, wheels from Maestro Models and decals from Moose Republic. This was two weeks ago so I needed it to be a quick build so the decision to go with the grey scheme was pretty easy. Everything went together without any problems but I did have to replace the main wing as the one in the kit was warped to hell. This particular plane was used to test the Di electronics which gave it the capability to carry AIM-120 AMRAAM, the white dots on the right side where used for test validation. Painted it using MR Paints Swedish colors 032 and 033.

The Viggen has to be one of the best looking 50 year olds out there. Lovely details on this build.

Beautiful build. You have to hand it to Saab they have made some damn fine looking warplanes.

Fantastic build of a beautiful plane!!

[Willem]

It is a beautiful aircraft. Gorgeous model. Grey jets tend to leave me cold but this is superb.
