ISM Friday night LIVE at the bench what have you been working on for Friday August 4th

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?" - A NEW SEGMENT OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S ISM LIVE "AT THE BENCH" SHOW!

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, August 4th*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

Nuts Planet 101st Airborne Trooper Bust

Base colours on the body done using Vallejo Model colour. Field jacket was airbrushed, ruck, details and webbing brush painted. Beautiful mould to work on, detail is stunning and it just looks right. On a bit of an enforced break at the mo following a medical procedure but this thing is calling me back to the bench as soon as I am better. Few more days and I'll be back at it.

The model I have spent most time on this week is currently covered in masking tape so I decided to share this instead. Its the 1/48 Airfix Ju87B-1. The cockpit's base colour is Mr Hobby Aqueous RLM02 with Self Levelling Thinner. The small amount of detail paint is with Vallejo Model Color and I also used the Eduard PE set. The engine is painted with Mr Metal Color Dark Iron and also Mr Hobby Aqueous, Tamiya and Vallejo Model Color paints. She's not weathered yet so the next step will be to add some chipping, a wash, some streaking effects and finally pigments

1/48 Tamiya A-1J Skyraider!

Been gone a couple weeks due to work; but, now I'm back at it!

The primed bits were primed with Ultimate Gray. Rest was done with Tamiya X-2 Gloss White and XF-? Rubber Black. Looking forward to seeing this one come together.

Now that I've completed my Warring Weather A-10 I've moved onto Revell's 1/600 USS Enterprise for the Summer Sci Fi SiG. This will be my first attempt at lighting something up after being persuaded by some of the other guys involved in the SiG. So in these shots everything is dry fitted and held with tape while I tested out how the lighting might work. The Saucer Section and engineering hull are both lit up using a cheap soft white LED string and the warp nacelles each have a flickering LED. The deflector dish has been undercoated in Ultimate black and then sprayed with Vallejo Metal Color copper. The Bussard collectors at the end of the warp nacelles are two parts, the inner one sprayed with Tamiya clear orange and the outer with clear red. I've still got some work to do in figuring out the wiring runs especially to the base, and a coat of primer should stop the bleed through of the lights through the plastic.

Still working on my Special Hobby SAAB AJ37 Viggen. I got the wings on the fuselage, replaced the flaps with resin ones from Maestro models as well as resin canards. There is still a little bit of sanding left to do and some small parts to attach. I hope to get some Ultimate primer on this weekend.
