Tamiya's 1/48 Sturmtiger with several upgrades

Post by SergioSolo »

Hi!
I finally finished he building process of Tamiya's brand new 1/48 Sturmtige. At first I thought it was going to be an easy/fast build, but there are several over-simplifications in a few places I just had to take care of before painting.
The fenders and exhaust covers were scratchbuilt using my own printable templates. You can download them for free in the description of this video, where I show the detailed building and modification process:

Now, some pictures!

That masking putty your using. I have some, but have never used it yet. They say hthat it can be reused many times . What happens to the paint that it collects...is it absorbed or does it just gravitate to the bottom of the tin or does it become part of the next model kit.

As an aside that same stuff can be bought from toy stores and is called "magnetic thinking putty".

Yes, it can be used many times. You just have to mix it after using it until the paint is fully absorbed and it turns black again. No residues whatsoever

Looking to yet another great build mate. :th:

I'm going to use the masking putty for the first time on my latest Leopard 2 build, I hope I can get similar results as you.
