Ism Friday's night live at the bench what have you been working on for *October 6th*

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?"

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, October 6th*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

My Revell 1/600 USS Enterprise is finally completed! Last time I shared an update on this was about four weeks back and I was waiting for replacement decals; thanks to Revell customer service the decals arrived and have been applied, and I also worked out how to capture the flickering effect of the Bussard collectors without using video.

Since I included the build details last time around I thought I'd provide a quick summary of the image processing so skip over this If it's not appropriate Dan.

I positioned the model in front of the TV with an appropriate background image. Set the camera up on a tripod and locked off the zoom & focus once I'd framed the model how I wanted it. Took ten shots of the kit with the internal lighting on, and one background shot without the model in it. The eleven shots were loaded into Photoshop, stacked and aligned and then using a sample of the background image I masked out the display stand on each shot. Finally each shot was setup as an animation frame on a continuous loop with a 0.1 second delay between each frame then saved as a GIF.
Et Voila! Flickering LEDs

On the bench this week are two kits in a side by side build, one for a friend and one for my son and they are revell Tie Fighter (supposedly 1:110) and Tie Interceptor (supposedly 1:90). As you can probably see I think they badged them the wrong way round.
The interceptor will be a straight build and the fighter something a little different (hopefully).
Materials used so far are masking tape and glue and which is further progressed?

So far, it's a tie!

Badum tsssssss..........

I'll get my coat.

Howdy all!

Finished up the Bandai 1/72 TIE Fighter this week for the Summer SciFi SiG.

Primed in Ultimate Black and Gray. Painted in Tamiya XF-85 Rubber Black and XF-83 Med Sea Gray 2 RAF.

Very fast build, highly recommended!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Wanted to do a simple quick build so I got started on this Pilot Replicas SAAB J21 earlier in the week. It's a nice kit with some good details, but the fit could be a bit better. The plan is to convert it from the fighter version to the attack version A21. The biggest difference is adding the fuel tanks on the wing tips which are already included in the kit and scratch building a bunch of rockets and a rack to mount them underneath the central wing. The cockpit has been painted in Tamiya XF61 and then detail painted with Vallejo black, white, yellow, red, silver and light grey. Finished the cockpit with a dark brown oil wash and some light earth colored pigments.

Been super busy (I know, when am I not, lately?) but I have made progress on the Valkyrie. (Sorry the pic looks a bit crappy, I forgot to change the settings on my phone camera...looks a bit jaggy here)

Base coat of Mr Color c316 White down over some brown preshading, Mr Color 1 Black and c329 Yellow for the markings all masked off and done. There's actually decals for all the black and yellow markings, but I dislike using decals of that size when I can paint if I'm careful.

Armor is all done with Mr Color 14 Navy Blue and 72 Intermediate Blue mixed 60/40. Metalics are Alclad Steel and Burnt Iron.

Time for all the little decals and then some weathering. Maybe I'll assemble it a bit more, get her up on her wheels or something. Time is growing short so I better get a move on either way.
