1/35 Rye Field Tiger 1 1943 North Africa

i will be making the 1/35 Rye Field Tiger 1 1943 North Africa. the tank i will be modeling is one from the 501st heavy panzer battalion. i ordered aftermarket tracks and a metal barrel for it but have not received them yet. i have aftermarket decals for it and will be trying my hand at weathering seeing as i have Mig ammo's complete set for the DAK forces.

off to a good start the turret fits together nicely just a couple of small gaps

Got the turret almost completely done and started on the lower hull

Finished off the turret and started on the rear plate of the hull

I too have the RFM Tunisian tiger in the stash, and am researching the 131 Bovington Tiger.

All the on line reviews do support this being both a well made kit, with only a few alterations required,
dependent on what level of detail you want to achieve.

Your PhotoBucket photos aren't easy to access unfortunately.

Any problems yet with the build?

Is the aftermarket barrel an easy fix?

The reviews did quote the RFM barrel is 3mm too long!

Are you using Fruil tracks?

i found the the barrel to fit nicely and yes i will be using the friul tracks and i will try my best to get the photos working my camera take to high quality pictures to allow them to be uploaded

i got the tracks in and have put a few together and am loving them so far
