Aur0ra145's Revell 1/2700 Imperial Star Destroyer

Post by aur0ra145 »

It's finally finished! Fun build that was the result of an impulse buy. 10/10 would impulse buy again.

Sorry for the mix of pictures. My photo shooting ability is not what it should be and I'm using a phone camera. However, I do think the gray backgrounds show the color pretty well and the white background shows the details a bit better.

Edit: From viewing the pictures. The true color is best represented in the last photo, though, lighting problems and bad camera workmanship by myself messed up the color representation. In all you get a good sense of how it actually looks.

The final color mix was XF-2 Flat White and XF-55 Deck Tan in a 10:1 ratio thinned with about 2 parts of Tamiya thinner. The best way I can put it, is that it looks like a dirty white color with a hint of beige. This took a LOT of paint. I used probably 40ml of paint when it was all said and done.

The final color is very very close to how the ISD's looked in The Force Awakens.

Look at this beast!

Great work, man. I like the color quite a bit, very New Hope. Makes me need to have one of my own and color it like you did.

Take a bow, sir! :th:

Sorry I'm way late on this, but we're done! Yay!

I'll be contacting the judges shortly and let them get to work on all the very fine submissions this year. I hope you enjoyed yourself and look forward to seeing you again next summer!

Again, I'm sorry for the delay and if you need some explanation, you can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23701
