There's a German build about to start and I think it might be in our interest to start this one once it's done, so maybe a November 1 start?

I'd like to make sure anyone who wants to do both might be able to focus on them and also I don't want to interfere with the folks who are running it. Manners maketh man, etc.

Thanks for the link Neil!

Yea, Ill be following, :pop: love race cars. As far as entering Im not sure tho at the moment.

I looked in my stash and did find a cool 1997 Pontiac "Kyle Petty" Nascar but opened the cover (yea and got it back in the late 90's too), but (aarrgg) already started the engine and even got some paint on the engine too. The rest untouched!
Image
But being that this is a longer build (if I do join the gb) Ill try and save a few of my "wifes" bucks and get something a bit newer and untouched, so I can do a proper ISM sprue layout and startup.

Until then, Ill make sure that when I stand in our hobby shop for a long time... looking at one kit.... with my eyes wide open.... and some tiny crying noises start to come out of my mouth..... she says "OMG, will you please buy it now so we can get out hell of here!!!!" :bash: hehehe!!

GOOD LUCK GUYS... Make the F1's look fast just standing there. (God.. this forum is addicting...)

I'm thinking November 1; been super busy these last couple weeks but I'm free as of tomorrow so I'll be kicking this into a higher gear* right away.

I've been itching to actually finish a car build. GBs are a good way to keep me on track.

I may get this Corvette C7R that I saw race at the Petit Le Mans a couple of weeks ago. It seems like a complex kit, so that scares me a bit. Also, painting yellow can be a big pain in the butt.

Image

I'm not a huge muscle car fan, but something simpler like this Dodge may be nice. Round 2 Models re-pops often disappoint, but the box art continually draws me in.

Image

The Hobby Lobby 40% coupon is also a huge draw for me.

Yeah, sorry dudes. Life, ya know? It hit me in the face a few times, if it matters to you, my situation is here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23701

I plan on talking with the powers that be in a few days, so stay tuned. Considering voting for 2018 GB's is about to happen it might be a bit more up in the air than it was but I'll get it sorted out.

Sorry, again, and thanks for your patience!

Been a tough year in the sigs and GB's with lower levels of participation
Seems most are doing their own thing on FB or buddy builds

Yep agree - is it worth sticking into the "wish-list" thread to see if people are interested in making it official?

I think one of the appeals of this was the extended time limit so it doesn't feel so tight for us slow builders so maybe take that idea forward too?

ALSO!

There's a car and bike GB in the poll for 2018 and so far it's doing well. If you HAVEN'T voted yet, please do so today! We can make it happen one way or another, but an official build would be cool.

I built this one to get back in the feel of building a car as I am an aircraft guy and have also just returned from 8 years away fro the hobby. This is my second build since returning to the hobby and I am just trying not to glue parts to my hands at this point!

I had a lot of fun building this one and will be participating in the GB if it becomes official. This is a Revell 2001 Corvette C5-R Le Mans #63.
