Modelling Bucket List for 2018

Hey Guys!

What are your planned builds for 2018 ?

Part from GBs and buddy builds that I will try to start some serious aircraft projects:

SAAB JA37 Viggen:
I have a Tarangus 1/48 JA37 kit with a shite-load of aftermarket in my stash. I have been this --><-- close to start the build many times, but I have chickened out every time sofar But this time I will do it!



Sukhoi Su-25 Frogfoot:
I got a Revell 1/48 Frogfoot kit in my stash that I will sprinkle with aftermarket and paint it as the famous Czech Airforce object. This will probably be the most challenging thing I have done sofar
I have no idea how to approach it, but I just know that I want to give it a try



Convair B-58 Hustler:
Got no kit, no aftermarket, no idea of which scale I want to go for, no nothing - I just want build it!

I will play along, though I fear time and a short attention span will change my mind.
As of Today December 13, 2017, I have four builds in mind I want to complete in 2018
With kits I already have
Repsol Honda 1/12 bike with some aftermarket goodies


Short Sterling bomber and a little diorama for her...likely lots of scratch work to do


1/48 Sea King with some aftermarket stuff


And last but not least, a Wingnut Wings Sopwith Camel


Plus I have a Porsche 911 and Ferrari F40 both partially built that I want to complete
Now next week, I will probably have a whole new list for ya

I will play along, though I fear time and a short attention span will change my mind.

Those rules apply for me too I'm a slow builder so I'm happy if I can complete more than 6 kits in a year.
...and I'm easily distracted and will... Ohhh, look a squirrel!

Plans for 2018?

Building one 1/35 M1 Abrams diorama with plenty of mud and water and one US navy deck diorama, probably a 1/72 F-14A, maybe an A-6. Those are the main goals, the other little projects and builds will just be enjoying myself with OOB builds and trying out new techniques.

I plan to to alternate between ww2 and modern AFVs. And there’s a B17 for the heavy bomber SIG (if the vote goes my way).

And then there’s the small matter of my Black Friday Trumpy 1/16 Pz 4 and Jagdtiger to fit in!

Yah photos are essential for us over-50s

I've also realised that I've not built anything with a propeller attached to it this year, so will probably need to rummage around in the stash for one of those as well.

That sounds awesome! I also try to OOB builds now and then to get some "slack" and try new things. It's not fun to try a new technique on an expensive kit with lots of aftermarket finding that it didn't work as expected

Part from the Viggen kit I got the Eduard Draken and a S35E Draken in my stash as well, so there are a couple of kits to choose from. Maybe we can pull JonMW into this aswell ?

Well, with six Drakens, four Lansens, two Viggens and a couple of other SAAB planes in the stash I might have something to join you guys with

Or maybe this could be a good excuse to get started on scratch building that SAAB A36 Vargern that I've been thinking about.

I heard there was a guy who built a 1/8 scale replica of the Fw-190 that can actually be piloted and flown. I was watching documentaries about world war aircraft and one of them was on the 190. It is one of the only planes of that model that is flyable.
