Well Chief i don't know wich one you are thinking about but the one i have in mind is big indeed
About 90cm or 3 feet in lenght and nearly as wide when you fold the wings out
I bet i can do a better job of it this time
The old one was handpainted with enamels
No varnishes ,no washes and no idea of what the h*ll i was doing

Ya, I have a few ideas in my noggin
How about a Favorite Nose Art Competition....post a nose art in a purposed thread and we draw for another prize.
That gets us up to prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, a random draw prize and a nose art prize. Hmm not bad for a Canuck, Limey and Auzzie

Howdy,

I am all the way in on this SIG, gonna be building my Monogram B-17G.

I did say on New Year’s day “No new starts until everything is finished” but then you guys lay down some sweet tasting corn that I can’t help but peck up!

I’m very excited about this

This is what they looked like when my dad was at Westover AFB. That's an awful lot of gloss white and metal to paint!

(From the Westover ARB Facebook page 285862272883.147054.273805187883/101529 ... 84/?type=3)
"Boeing B-52C Stratofortress is on display at an early 1960s Armed Forces Day at Westover. This aircraft is parked by the DC Hangar, called the isochronal inspection dock for today's operations at Westover ARB. This B-52 was assigned to the host unit at Westover Air Force Base at the time -- the 99th Bombardment Wing of the Strategic Air Command. The shield of the 99th is visible by the nose. SAC's 24-hour airborne ("Chrome Dome") alert missions, in addition to regular proficiency missions, kept the fleet busy throughout the 1960s with thousands of flying hours. These early models of the famous bomber, built in 1953 and '54, began to be retired in 1971. (HIstorical information provided by MSgt. Andrew Biscoe; photo courtesy of Stan Lukasiewicz)"

This company sells decals for various B-52 versions - including a set from Westover.

There is a bit of time to clear up those other projects before the sig starts

You are the all important, hopefully middle of the pack #15 for Captain Mylightweight

I am hoping for about 30 actual builds so we are half way to my goal

It was a fictitious BV-38 flying wing Scott

Here is a concept clip from a wesite by Peter Garrison. I guess they cut it down to 2 props for the final release.

A note from Air&space:
The BV-38 is a fictitious aircraft, albeit one that Raiders production designer Norman Reynolds extrapolated from a number of real designs, most notably the Horten Ho 229, a jet wing test-flown by the Luftwaffe in 1943. Other contemporaneous wings include the Northrop N1M , which first flew in 1940, and the even stranger-looking Vought V-173, the U.S. Navy’s “Flying Pancake” first flown in 1942.

Can you imagine sitting up front with all that glass exposed as fighters come at you.....yikes!!!
What was the German Bomber in the Raider's of the Lost Ark Film where Indie is fist fighting the big German guy???
THAT would be cool to see built.
It was a fictitious BV-38 flying wing Scott

Here is a concept clip from a wesite by Peter Garrison. I guess they cut it down to 2 props for the final release.

That would be a really cool diorama, two figures and a rotating bomber, engine prop running...hmmm maybe one day

My crazy mind is formulating the central pivot for the plane to rotate plus a little motor to drive the prop
I have made a sandy base before when I did the 747 from Mad max so that is no problem
Finding workable figures would be the hardest part.....and then they would dictate the scale of the whole build
Hmmm :think: :scratch::
Damn I cannot take on a huge diorama project right now, but I am adding that one to my list as well
You are a bad influence ;)

All right just let me know
You have some time to sort things out, get a feel for your life with a little one and find a kit.
I will have a spot ready for you when you say, just give me the word and you are in

Holy crap, Easter is April 1st...whoops, that was probably blasphemy
The car and bike GB ends April 30th.
So maybe a good start date is May 1st and run it alongside the cold war GB???
Just thinking out loud ;)
