I love quotes where pilots slag their, or other pilots aircraft off. Here's a few more

P47
Pilot A - wow, its great in a dive
Pilot B - Just as well cos it sure as hell cant climb

F105 (again)
Takes the whole state of Kansas to turn it around

Early Spitfire Mk with clipped wings
Its clipped, cropped and clapped - its wings are clipped, they've cropped the engine and its clapped out!

P47 v Spitfire
Former Eagle squadron pilot's opinion of Novice USAAF P47 pilot - 'Them new boys sure love their new P47s!'
Another Eagle Squadron Pilot replies - 'Course they do, poor guys never flew Spits!'

My memory's not what it used to be, so the above may not be entirely accurate, the language was fruitier too.... :shifty:

But the best 'Like a boss' moment has to be Adolf Galland to Hermann Goering during the Battle of Britain

Goering has been insulting the pilots then turns all conciliatory, asking 'come my friends, what do you need?'
Galland replies, 'Give me a squadron of Spitfires!' (yes, I know its in the film but I've read he actually did say it)

And the best thing is he didn't even mean it, he said it just to wind the guy up, he actually preferred the Me109 - Like a boss!

Just for giggles :cheers2:
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Train wreck more likely!
Went to my favorite hobby store (there are only 2 left near me and this one is 75 miles away!) yesterday. This was on the shelf. What was I to do? My dad was at (well, we all were) Blytheville AFB during the Cuban Missile Crisis. This would work for the Bomber or Cold War build!

So, along with my other bombers -
B-36 (1/72 and 1/144 scale), B-47 (same), B-17 (72 and 48), B-34 (72), YB-49 (72), HE-111 H6 (72), B-58A (144), Lancaster BII (48), B-25B (48), B-57B (48), Mosquito (72), U2-/PU-2VS Night Witches light bomber (48), and (naturally - and damn your squinty eyes!) an F-105D and G (48) -
I'm ready for several bomber builds!
ON THE BENCH: Do I have to say? :(

So, after a brief chat with our dauntless leader Scott, I decided, heck, I'm joining this adventure as well.

I took a dive in the stash and from the wreckage, 2 candidates emerged ready to join this SIG.

From this set, the new tooled Airfix 1:72 Heinkel He111 P-2 seems a worthy entry...

Anyway, Our Dauntless Leader Scott, Captain Ric reporting for duty!! :fly:

We've got about a half-dozen B-52s visiting the local air base at the moment on exercises over here - awesome sight!

We do have a theory that they don't actually take off due to any aerodynamics though, they just plough on in a straight line until the curvature of the Earth drops away beneath them!
Cheers, Neil

Should throw a few Blackhawks and special ops at them one night and take out ALL their leadership
Most of their people would have a huge sigh of relief and run South, others hate the US even more.
Watched some vids on N Korea through the eyes of some defectors...very interesting. They are taught to hate the USA from a war in the 50’s...like kindergarten age kids in their schools taught about a phoney massacre By the evil US.
Discraceful non-human power hungry filth at the top there NK
Sorry a tinge political again
This video series is interesting :

Hey there Mav

I think the plan is to run it for 4 months. That way the slower builders can take their time without any pressure while the greyhounds among us can go mad and do multiple entries!

Hey there Mav

I think the plan is to run it for 4 months. That way the slower builders can take their time without any pressure while the greyhounds among us can go mad and do multiple entries!
:cheers2:
Yep Mav, we will go four months May1-Aug 31

Don’t make me get the squinty eyes out at you 👀
I am intentionally NOT looking at my Sterling research magazines and kit
A little wait will make you even hungrier to build :D

Right oh then - I am stepping up to take command of my Bomber..... Only trouble now is deciding what I'm going to be captain of. Just checked the stash and was surprised how many bomb loving planes where in there..
