Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, January 26th**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

While working on the Stuka been play around with the Kubelwagen for the #stalingrad build. After a base coat of Revell rust adding pigments powers of black, orange and white in layers. As well as finally sort out the frame work for the back seat.

I'll throw this one in here, since I finished the other skyline. My entry of the cars gb, Aoshima Nissan Skyline M-Spec Nür, primered in Ultimate Grey to hide the plastic swirlies then in Ultimate White, painted in Scalefinishes JW0 Nissan Millenium Jade and cleared with Scalefinishes Super clear. Decal i found on ebay, but didn't know it was a white background. Car mojo in full swing!

Italeri Scania 112m and Scratch Stepframe bathtub trailer

Trailer finally finished, Constructed with styrene sheet and strip,Landing legs, suspension and wheels are resin sets from Kit Form Services. Painted in fleet colours (supplied by the client) A false floor was inserted and a heaped load made from bean bag beads mixed with PVA glue to save weight, The tarp was a sheet of nylon material acquired from Mrs Rallychefs sewing box, jewellers washers superglued on as eyelets, sprayed the correct colour and rigged using model ship rigging rope. Really pleased with the overall result.

I will be finishing the final assembly of the tractor unit as I watch the show tonight and will be delivered to its final home on Monday (hopefully !!)

Cheers Ian D

Footnote - this was built for my Brother in law, the first driver ever taken on by AW Jenkinson in 1985, his boss and owner Mr AWJ. has just seen this photo and has asked for two for his office, this 1985 original Scania, and one of his newest 67 plate Scania's. looks like 2018 is going to be busy.

Al Macneish - 1/48 Airfix Lightning F.1/F.1A

Doing this one for Tim Headworths 'British Aviation In Scale' #TwinBrit build. Filling with everything I can lay my hands on, sanding excusively using Ultimate Sanding Sticks/Buffers and repeating ad nauseam before re-scribing the panel lines. Priming to follow using Ultimate Black primer heated to 39.5 degrees :D

After a load of sanding to rectify the join between upper and lower hull, I finally got the Trumpeter 1:700 USS Sacramento into primer.
The Ultimate range performing brilliantly, as always!

Don't think I'll get this finished before the MiG21 build starts but I never expected to get this far, so quickly!

Work continues on the Airfix Engine kit. Paints are Ultimate/stynlrez primers, Tamiya and Alclads.
It's a lovely old kit to put together so far. It has a few minor problems, but nothing a bit of ignorance and force can't fix. For my first comeback build in over a year, it's perfect... even though my skills are lacking, I'm having fun=)

Here's my progress on the Tiger I posted last weekend.
Primed with Vallejo white polyurethane primer (not impressed by that stuff to say the least), painted with Tamiya Dark Yellow and AK interactive Olivgrün. I started decalling this as tank 002 of the 502nd Schwere Panzerabteilung but I managed to absolutely destroy all three of the "002" decals in the kit so I decided to make this a somewhat inaccurate tank 12 of 506th Schwere Panzerabteilung. 506th can be recognized by the big tiger insignia on the storage box. I'll make a more detailed post in the build log this weekend.

By the way, I tried my best to mangle the photo-etched fenders and exhaust covers without destroying them. It doesn't really show in the photos.

Managed to finish my GWH F-15D today. Except for a pair of Aires seats and some scratch building on the radar and avionics bays and the remove before flight tags it's been build pretty much OOB. It was painted mostly using MR Paints and AK Extreme Metals with some Vallejo used for detail painting. For weathering I used Ultimate Dark Dirt wash and sanded it off and then added oils for some streaks and staining. Only had some problem with the decals not laying down too easy, other then that it's been a really fun build.

It's Tamiya EVO 5 WRC, custom made. It is my testing unit so I'm not doing it with a instruction. Seats are made with special powder so they look really good in my opinion. Suspension and brakes are also custom made for a more realistic look. There will be also tinted windows on rear, opened windows in front and I will add racing seatbelts from EDUARD - whish to do them with TAKATA but I cant find proper decals. It was also my first time with ZERO PAINTS 2K CLEAR.

ZMSC Modell Works Tamiya McLaren Mercedes SLR with Aber Super detail set, and Hobby Design Hamann Volcano Resin/ Photo-etch. Paint is Zero Paints 2- Part Renault RS16 Formula 1 2016 Pearl Yellow ZP-1396 over Badger Stynylrez 50/50 white and grey. Grey areas are Tamiya Metallic grey as a backgroumd for the carbon fiber decals to be added later. Waiting for time right now between hefty work schedule in order to get to the hobby shop for some x-22 as an intermediate coat to put down the carbon decals before being shot with Zero Paints 2K Clear. By the way the smoke idea was me sitting at the photobooth thinking how I could make a cool shot. Doing this as I was vaping ( managed to kick a 12 year smoking habit with it) some of the smoke got into the booth and then it hit me...........

This week I have been working on the Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon. Slowly getting towards the finish line with this and hoping to get it finished over the next few week's.

Work this week involved applying a pin wash using Abeilung 502 Starship Filth thinned with odourless thinners, This was applied on a gloss surface to help the wash flow around all the details and panel lines. Excess was removed with cotton buds.

Next is to apply a matte coat and then do some streaking.
