I really want this as well, although I may wait until the export version later in the year as I prefer the markings on those :)

Ordered mine yesterday. Such a beautiful aircraft that has been begging for a new tool. I cant wait for the new Blenheim either! I see Eduard is on the ball as usual and has photo etch sets available already. The only slight downside I can see to the Sea Fury are the rockets and rails molded together in halves. Lots of careful clean-up needed.

Having had a look at the kit, it looks GREAT, well done Airfix! Yes I'm looking forward the Blenheim too :)
Eduard now works hand in glove with Airfix, and other manufacturers, (They are given advance copies of kits) so they can be released in tandem.

Here is a pic of the issue, not too major but on a 'New Tool' kit is a bit annoying...

The leading edge of the tail on the right hand side is missing.

Yes, FB posters have noted sink marks on the rudder too. Pretty shoddy for a new tool. You can have all the high tech CAD design in the world but if you can't put decent plastic in the box then what are Airfix doing?

Agree with Paul. I know the problems can be resolved with filler but why should they be?

I had a similar thing with a Meng kit recently, the tracks were twisted and stressed in the box so I got straight on to the manufacturer and requested new tracks. I could probably have made them work somehow but why should I? I paid the asking price and I expected a decent product.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

I have read that one large UK company already have returned all their stock to the manufacturer.... not sure if true or not but was noted in comments on an FB post....From waht I read I presume they had spoken with said suppliers customer service dept.

No excuse for such problems in todays world. I'm betting it was noticed during the test run and they just decided for monetary reasons not to fix it...tight as***d buggers

Mine is the same. :( It doesn't look like much but it will be a pain to fix with the curve of the panel line. I will probably return mine as every review I have seen has the problem even if the reviewer missed it so a replacement part from Airfix will probably be the same. :wall:

Edit: I have contacted the seller and Airfix so will see what they say.

This is quite a shame, I'd send it back. I'm here in the US waiting patiently for my preordered Sea Fury to show up. I haven't seen anybody from North America share one yet so I'll guess it just hasn't arrived here. However, if its going to be defective I'd rather not have it. Unless they want to mark it down half price I'd accept a couple defective ones. As someone who wants Airfix to succeed and stick around since its such a scale model institution I'd love for them to get their 'S' together, release kits in a timely manner and have them not be defective upon arrival.

Airfix have failed to publicly knowledge the issue. It seems you have three options, send the complete kit back to where you bought it, request a replacement part from Airfix or take it on the chin and fix it yourself.
