I'm calling this finished. it's an out of the box build.

I have to say this is the hardest kit I've made, certainly my first bike in many, many years, it has tested my skill to the limit and beyond in so doing has developed them.   There're still imperfections but mostly down to my lack of skill and experience things like the frame, discs, fork, shock and chain finishes and the shadow mark in the tank from the two holes which appeared, to correct these now would mean a complete strip down and I think (if you've been following the build) I've done more than my fair share of!  The screen had quite a few scratches on so I dipped it in AK Gauzy glass coat, which although got rid of the scratches didn't drain too well and bubbled at one of the rivet mouldings.  I think my pot needs thinning slightly and I should have brushed it a little perhaps.  

Although a I've managed a reasonable standard of finish, its not where I want to be, but I've learned a huge amount, future builds will be planned more thoroughly  sections built to finish rather than building then painting all metal parts for example.  

The kit it's self was a disappointment in both quality and the method of assembly, both are nowhere near Tamiya standards and the kit is very fragile, the end can hanger snapped while attaching it to the tail cowling while taking the pictures!  Parts weren't moulded correctly or missing the hose connector for the cam cover breather for one, the clip on's don't fit correctly.  Considering the kit coast more than a lot of Tamiya 1/12 kits, personally  I think it's hard to justify that, I for one only went Fujimi because it's the only GSX-R plastic kit out there, well what I could find.  Here it is.........

From the pictures it looks stunning, I really like the heat staining on the exhaust and the finish of the red and gray paint work.
Don't be to desapointed some kits can fall together others can be a right pain

It has turned out really super.
What is most impressive is your perseverance in fighting through the problems and finishing it rather than giving up and binning it.
That way you learn more...parents call that building character
In the end we never see the issues, just a lovely motorcycle
but this damn Lotus I am building, that is another story
