Revell 1/72 F-4F Phantom

Hi everyone!

As my wife has been in hospital recently I've been at a bit of a loose end, so after completing one 1/72 kit I fancied starting another fun little build, so here it is!

This was a kit I bought off eBay with no box, instructions or decals. I have identified it to be the Revell F-4F Phantom kit - this is the box art from Scalemates:

Upon opening the bag it looks to be a decent kit with an excellent amount of detail. I've built it before when I was young and careless so didn't take the time to appreciate what sort of kit it was.







There's a small amount of flash here and there, but nothing to worry about!

So I got started on it last night. Cockpit and seats first. Look at those instrument panels beautiful!



Also fitted the main fuselage halves together and the bottom wings.



No fit issues so far!

I've continued this evening with the cockpit - getting it painted and detailed.





I still can't get over how much I had to work with on those instrument panels, I've never seen such good detail at this scale!

The seats aren't too bad either:

I love the box art as well, have you found the livery you are going to ise to dress her with?

I agree, that is a pretty darn good detailing for 1/72 cockpit

I have two of this boxing myself and you're right, it's really nicely moulded. Is it a Hasegawa rebox?

Not that I'm aware of!

I just realised I forgot to post an update showing where I'm currently at with this.

I've buttoned up the fuselage, added the wings and tail stabilisers, nosecone, intakes and some of the canopy parts. Absolutely no fit issues so far, everything goes together so easily!

Looking good so far Rob ive 4 of these in the stash. The amount of detail in the pit is great.
