Help identifying a problem with clear coating

So a couple of weeks back I really felt like I had lost my modelling mojo, and I'm not sure if I've got it back yet. However, back then I decided to build a really simple kit and I decided to "do it right", basically to the very best of my capabilities. Around then I saw some rather impressive work done with Ultimate washes and I decided to buy a couple of bottles of those and I applied them to my Sd. Kfz. 222 by Tamiya after checking ISM's tutorials on the stuff. It did look very good to me to start with, but after I put the model aside for a week or two I finally decided to put down a coat of tamiya's TS-80 flat clear, which seemed to dry almost instantly and it left a finish like this:



I had applied desert dust pigment by Vallejo using Ultimate's wash as a binder to the areas that are now covered in white gunk. I'm wondering if I did something wrong here? I kinda had this happen with my Pz III that I'm currently finishing, it got a couple of very bright white spots on it after I put the same TS-80 on it, but here it's very prominent and I'm not sure if I can do anything to fix this or if I even have the motivation to do so.

Yep the Ts sprays are lacquer and dry very fast. Your best putting washes pigment etc on at the end after matt coating. Ive never had much luck sealing any pigment in with clears

I've come to expect every spray I use to dry for at least an hour before it's dry enough to touch, but this literally seemed to dry as I came in from my balcony door. I usually finish my models with a matte spray in order to make them more resistant to wear. Before this one I've never had pigments turn into this kind of a white mess, it's very odd. I guess I'll go back to using Vallejo's acrylic matte varnish and hope I can avoid this in the future. I did very much like working with Ultimate washes, it was just that this was the only thing I did differently to my other models so I wondered if maybe the mix of wash and pigments reacting to the varnish caused this. Or if anyone else in the forums has had this happen and how they dealt with it.
