Hello from Mid Georgia USA

Hi everyone! My name is David or Dave as most people who know me call me and I'm an avid RC modeler as well as a Control Line flier.
Anyway, I'm returning to scale modeling from a 30 year hiatus and up until very recently, it was 1988 since I've touched a static model of any type, So...
A little background on myself;
I began building plastic models as a kid back in 1980 and continued on and off until I had to hang it up in 1988 due to school and other things in life. During that time period, due to the lack of parental support as well as materials and information at the time I never was able to really get a firm grasp of the techniques and procedures which were involved in scale plastic model building. In 1994, I tried to get back into it by buying a Monogram A-10 Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale but was discouraged since some of the parts (Decals as well as the pilot) were missing so again I put the idea down then put the kit away and so it sat until very recently when I ran into an ISM build video of an A-10 which perked my interest and of course, I looked further and ran into one of the "on the bench" streams which finally lit that fire that I needed to get back into it. So here I am, at my bench doing a fantasy build involving that old "Decal-less A-10, knocking 30 years of modeling rust off in the process!

I'm looking forward to learning new tricks and techniques with you all and hopefully join in on some builds in the near future!

to the forum Dave. Hey got the same A-10 in the stash. Try looking for 3rd pasty ones from Microscale or superscale. Not sure if there availabe lately but they show up in scalemates.
