That's Fife!

Hello.

Name is Dominic. (I hate Dom, and I don't mean the S&M kind )

I've been making, well trying to, models since I was about 7 or 8. My first ever one was a very small model of an air liner. Not a 747 but something similar. It was a disaster. Having glued all the parts together, my well meaning godfather suggested I sit it on the window ledge to dry.

In Summer. In the middle of a heatwave.

You can imagine what I came back to, and it certainly didn't resemble an aircraft.

I've built various subjects over the years, planes, cars, boats, spacecraft, etc. I took about a 10 year gap from building anything in my early 20's, and only got back into it when I was 30+, and for a long time, that was wooden sailing ships. It's only the last few years I've got back into plastic as a medium. Dabbled in lighting one or two things as well over the years.

At the time of posting, I have on the bench a 1/32 Spitfire by Revell, which is coming along nicely. I am trying some more advances techniques on it as I've always been pretty basic, especially when it comes to weathering. So far not going too bad. I've recently, and finally, invested in an airbrush as well, and although it's been a steep learning curve, (when they say don't buy cheap Chinese airbrushes, LISTEN TO THEM!), but currently loving my Harder & Steenback! It's certainly allowing me to do things just not possible with a rattle can or brush.

In my stash, gawd I loose count, but most notable is a 1/200 USS Missouri. Complete with the extra PE kits and wooden decks. Not sure when I'll be starting that as my workbench isn't long enough. Also a 1/400 QMII, for which I have an extensive lighting plan.

Probably loads more to say but it all escapes me now, thanks.
