Hello from Missouri!

Post by JGAwhat »

Hello all,

A bit of an introduction. I'm a late comer to modelling. I never really built models as a youth, although I had a few RC trucks.

I was needing a new hobby to help deal with a bit of PTSD that I got while in the service, and had watched several videos on Youtube and decided that i'd give it a shot. Fortunately, this has definitely helped with my PTSD, unfortunately, it seems i'm a bit of a serial starter. I've started about a dozen kits, and have yet to truly finish one. I'm getting more comfortable painting, so hopefully some of my unfinished models will be finished soon.

I've been browsing the forum for a couple of months, and the skills and tips that i've come across are really inspiring. I hope to use these to keep improving my skills, as I really enjoy this hobby!

Nice to be a here!

Welcome to our group! What branch of the military did you serve? I was in the Army and then Federal Service but retired in May of 2016 with over 31 years of service. Hope to see some of your completed projects soon...

Thanks for the welcomes, guys!

@DRUMS01 - I was in the Army, 101st Airborne, for about 12 years active duty, and 8 years reserve, unfortunately not enough to retire. Although I am 100% disabled for certain medical reasons.

Hopefully i'll complete a model soon, lol. I'm a serial starter, but not a good finisher, yet. I really enjoy the building part of it, but struggle getting through the painting part of it.

Thank you for your service!
