Ism Friday's night live at the bench what have you been working on for *April 13th*

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, April 13th**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

With my week off I have been trying to do as much as I can on the Special Hobby Hawker Tempest Mk.V High Tech 2. I have finished off all the build and I have now done all the base colours for the camo and invasion stripes. My love for this kit has well and truly returned, especially now I can get the paint effects started :)

Just tracks this week! The rubbery things that came with my 1/35 Tamiya StuG IV.

First I primed them with Ultimate black, then I dabbed some Vallejo flat brown randomly so that there was still some black visible. Next I tried using pigments for the first time - Humbrol orange which was all I could get in my LHS. Seems to work fine for rust. Also I used the pigment from some evaporated Ultimate dark dirt wash to add a dry earthy-ness between the treads.

Finally I used a 6B pencil to gently rub across the raised details and give a metal effect. The top track in the picture has not yet had this treatment, so you can see what a big difference it makes!

Finished Tamiya VW Beetle 1966 1/24. Paint Mr. Paint 087 green primer, 188 Rosso corsa Ferrari red + 048 super clear gloss. Tamiya acrylics paints here and there, brushpainted. Also tried bare metal foil, glue in these are not great but it's better use these than paint those thin lines. Few mistakes were made but, hopefully, I learned little bit more :bash: :ooops:.

Still the Heller Laverda 750 SFC. Lots of struggles and setbacks but touch wood, the finish line is on the horizon.

Been doing a little bit of work on my Special Hobby Yak 3. The cockpit is almost done, just need to finish the seat, I've painted it in Vallejo intermadiate blue over Ultimate black primer, it was then dry brushed with a light grey and given a dark blue oil wash.

Hello folks,

Plodding on with the Dauntless. All the internals either primed (Ultimate Black) or painted (MRP's) except for the radios and stuff that needs brush painting which will be Tamiya mixes. With any luck the fuselage will be ready to join by Monday.

Meanwhile I've started the Tamiya 1/32 F-16CJ which will be an out of the box jobbie (no, not that type). Trolley Dolly for the engine stuck together and along with the engine bits is awaiting Mr Surfacer 1600 primer - black. Long story about paint lifting so need a lacquer base this time.

Thanks for looking.

Al

This week I painted my 1/48 Airfix Stuka. For the main colours I used a combination of panel line pre-shading and black basing. Then I created masks for the main markings and painted them on (again using a combination of pre-shading and black basing to get some variation)

I'm certainly starting to feel more confident with painting - I am happier with the finish each time I do it.

Next up I will touch up some areas in and around the markings, and will then decide if I want to add some fading. After that it will be a gloss coat before adding the decals I couldn't do with masks :)

Incidentally the photo is taken using my new home made photo booth and a grey card for the first time :) I think cost me less than £30 for both, money well worth spending IMO :th: Now I just need to figure out what the hell I'm doing with the camera :
