Post by SEBa111 »

Hello guys, I want to ask for the deadly idea of buying Amazon or eBay stuff (fear or not about shipment and delay) .. I agree, It can soak Up the wallet, but its a risk that I want to take

I rarely use amazon but anything ordered has always made it.

Ebay is fine too, there does seem to be a growing issue with scams from China. Small cheap items are listed by companies that never ship them. They list stupidly long shipping times (up to 2 months or more) and I think they hope that because it's a small, cheap item and it's been such a long time, you'll have forgotten about by the time it qualifies for a refund through paypal. For things like model kits I've never had a problem, even from China. The refund policy on ebay is simply the best, I you say you didn't get it, the seller has to prove you did, you'll get your money back every time.

I use eBay and Amazon Prime (well worth the £80 a year) all the time.

I order all sorts from China and rarely have a problem, and only then it’s due to minor description issues... considering how much I have saved over the last 5 years this is insignificant.

Also don’t just use eBay.uk. Register onto eBay.com and search there too, well worth the effort.

I am a ‘Price Tart’ though and not worried about saying so.

I use both E-Bay and Amazon (Prime) and have ordered stuff from all over and have never had a serious issue :)

I use ebay all the time. I have been scammed a few times ( Never concerning models ), but have always gotten a refund.
I have used amazon maybe 2 or 3 times and have had no problems.

I use both, I avoid Amazon unless I just can't get it elsewhere this is more of a moral thing rather than everything to do with service. Ebay like others I have been scammed once but that was for low end stuff as been mentioned above and the odd individual selling items mainly the condition of them, in all cases got my money back. Use the feedback score if it's below 98% I look at their feedback in detail, look at the address of the seller if it's China I don't use them, some try and hide this but if you do a little digging you can find where the company is located.

I buy nearly all my modelling kits and supplies direct from shops both on line and in person and don't use either Ebay or Amazon.

I have used Hobbyeasy ,Lucky model and sealmodel with no problems at all. Sealmodel takes longer to get here via surface mail, but I think they use a shipping company and have to weight until a container is full before it actually leaves China.
These can be a great source of items and if your country has a strong currency then you have a win unless BORDERFORCE gets ya
