Oh dear. That's a pity. Have we had some people drop out?

Would be a shame to miss out on all the fun.
No one has dropped out yet, I am just being a goof

Or be like me and panic finish three builds + dio’s before the end of the month  :wtf: :wall:
I still have several builds to finish but those aren't on a deafline and i have no problrm putting them to the sidr for a while
Wrapping up my 1/32 FA-18C by the 20th. The B-1B and Phantom are already set aside. So the Hustler will be the main focus come May.
That is my plan for the Lancer aswell
I have several goodies for it and i don't want to make a rush job of it as it will be one of the if not the biggest build this year
And it takes uo a fair bit of room so i want something decent to look at
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

Got everything I was missing today by mail for my JU-88 ! Got the Bid Ed set, with resin exhaust from QuickBoost and seats by Loom I think...
And 2 books earlier. Dont know if I'm gone use all the Big Ed set ; but it was cheaper to buy it than buying individually every PE sets I wanted. And the details on my Revell kit seem pretty nice...
I have to hurry to finish my other project before it starts !
So ready for my first bomber, my first group build and only my fourth plane...the other project being my third !

Got all of my bits together ready for the off. Good to know that a Staffel buddy is also building a Ju 88! Mine's an A-5 in 1/48 by ICM. Just waiting on a couple of books to arrive as I don't know an awful lot about the type.

I have the A-4 from Revell. I also don't know anything about that plane. And as I wrote don't have much experience modeling and even more modeling planes. I've got 3 books on it. One pretty good but covers only the A-1 and A-2...the follow-up to that book that was disappointing. And a third one that seems pretty nice. But didn't have much time to look at it. Working to much lately

For those building Ju-88's, what books have you got that would be worth getting for the reference material?

Still waiting for a couple but can recommend this one.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/836287 ... ju+88+book#

Comes with decals and plans.

Edit. Just noticed it's unavailable on Amazon but a family member got me my copy from Bibliophile books. Worth googling them.

I bought 3 :
- Ju-88 vol. 1 from the Kagero series (no. 57) ; quite good but covers only the first version of it
- JU-88 vol. 2 from Kageron series again (no. 59) ; quite good too but not as good as the first one. Too many 3D images
- Junkers Ju 88 : The Early years.... by Christ Goss ; a must... didn't read it yet but pictures are quite good. I think they may be a follow up or one in the near futur.

LOL trying to wrap up this FA-18C without screwing it up too badly. LOL After the Hustler, i think I am going to do a car myself. Take a break from planes. Even though I LOVE them.

Does a TBM Avenger qualify? It has a bomb bay and according to wikipedia it could carry either a Torpedo or conventional bombs in the bay. Just looking for clarification. If not, I've got some other ideas brewing.

Not to worry though, I think I have found the kit that I want to build! I just need a few more drinks before I'm ready to click that "Take my paycheck" button!
Sometimes you've just got to measure potential enjoyment versus cost. Crack the seal on the bottle, attain the relevant level of zen calmness then press the Enter key for that beautiful kit you want, and dare I say it, thoroughly deserve!
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Well welcome CharlieB , You are CAPTAIN #49

Sig starts May 1st, openings to make your own thread will be put up closer to start date next week

If you need any help on ISM, don’t hesitate to ask. You are welcome to message me if you prefer.
There are lots of good examples of ‘build threads’ in the index if you want to see how they go.
viewforum.php?f=135

Basically the pattern is:
*pic of box and unstarted sprues
* some history of the subject and your connection to it
* photos and description of what you are doing as you go along

Now some people, ahem mainly me, make long posts in their build threads and tend to blabber and interact with whomever comments and we go on tangents and then blabber about that and post a million pics and memes and then I have to correct a major building screw up or painting disaster.....etc.
That is pretty much my pattern :shifty: ;)
Ya, Maybe ask someone else how to do a build thread

Nah... that seems to cover the more advanced thread building techniques

You don’t, and I saw I’d be 50 which was another thing that convinced me to join :)

my connection to it? The only connection to a Ju 88 that I'm likely to have is when I've superglued some part of it to my fingers, in an attempt to be a Junkers cyborg....

when does this damn thing start?
