Ism Friday's night live at the bench what have you been working on for *June 15th*

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?”

NEW! Starting this upcoming Friday, the Live! Crew will not only review your work, they will also pick their favorite build for the week. The entry with the most votes will win an ISM Goodie Bag! It is just one more reason to show us your work each week, so what are you waiting for?

**Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, June 15th**

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show.

Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.
02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.
03). Along with your image, Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).
04). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.
05). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew.

Monograms PBY Catalina 1:48th

My Second plane build :)

Completed in the livery from the movie 'Always'

Primed in Ultimate and painted with Tamiya flat colours. Decals were from Draw Decals in the US.. really nice once down.. getting them off the backing paper and onto the model was a nightmare.

Finally panel lined with Ultimate Clay washes. and Matt varnished.

Hope you like it :)

YELLO guys

Started working on Hawker Hunter 1/32 Revell. Got it for £10 from ebay. Really nice kit.
Right. Never done cockpit to this kind of detail. Was fun and to be completely honest i'm so, so happy how it looks. Almost proud :)
Used some tamiya paints, humbrol enamels and Ultimate dark dirt. And no after market.

I have been doing a lot of coding work on the Color Matching Utility.

http://www.scale-modeller.com/paint/colorWidget.html

This week I have been working on adding some of the suggestions I have received from the community. Today I published an updated sorting order for all of the paint ranges. Color sorting is a massive topic and I did the best I could to implement something that works better than being sorted by name or id.

AlexBB pointed out an incorrect match and I spent many hours researching a new method of matching. The current method uses the standard Red Green Blue (RGB) color space and simple Euclidean Geometry to find the nearest neighbor. I am in the process of changing the color space to Hue, Saturation, and Value (HSV). This color space takes how we as humans perceive color and matches should be more accurate to the human eye. The new matching algorithm should be in place this weekend.

I have also included multiple matches in case the closest mathematical match still isn't the best match. Mousing over the resulting color chips will display the paint data.

Some of the features coming next week will be the ability to match against multiple paint ranges. I am also planning on being able to mix two colors together as this is quite common to see in kit instructions. I have reached out to all of the major paint manufacturers and requested exact color information. However, I don't expect any of them will actually send me anything.

I really appreciate the feedback I have gotten so far, keep the ideas coming.

P.S. The flickr integration is finished, just waiting to hear back from Lee about getting it installed here.

Evening Folks

Marks & Spencer rebox of the Revell 1/72 Lancaster B Mk.I/III saga!

Top seam has sunk after applying paint and I don't know whether to carry on or leave it. If I leave it I'll have to respray the camo line again as it's too far down the fuselage. Paint mule anyone?

Also Finished the Mig-21R finally :D

Thanks for looking.

Still on with the cars this week.
Revell HotWheels Pontiac NASCAR finished after a nightmare with the decals. I used some Micro Scale Decal Repair to attempt a rescue...it may have helped but hard to tell. Still had to jigsaw together all of the decals as they fractured!
The body shell is also warped, so doesn't sit too well but my little lad thinks it's fantastic and it's found a new home on a shelf, in his room.

Also started decals on the Skoda Fabia...before realising that I needed to paint the wings and valance in black...only part of the scheme that isn't covered by decals!

Learned a lesson today... cling film can lift off decals!

Well, I've been working on Monogram GSX '70 1/24 body. Primer Tamiya Fine Surface Primer Pink and main colour is Tamiya TS-39 Mica Red + TS-13 clear. Little accident when painting bonnet outside in garden, wind came and also pollen with few curse words. But sanding helps.

I usually try to build a car that has raced at Le Mans during the 24h race at Le Mans. Last year I started a Fujimi Porsche 917K, but when the white decals turned pink I put it away.
So one year later I thought it was time to get it done. The body has been stripped of the old paint and decals, then primered in Mr Surfacer 1200. The two fins weren't in the kit so I made a 3d model and 3d printed them. So tomorrow when the race starts it will get a coat of Ultimate white primer followed by some Martini decals that hopefully will lay down fine. Will try to find some seat belts in stash to use and add a couple of wires to the interior. Hopefully it will be done on Sunday evening.

finished 2 cars in the last week, both skylines,

first the middle one, Tamiyas 1/24 Calsnonic GTR, Ultimate white primer, zero paints calsonic blue, and fabric seatbelts added.

Second one is a Fujimi kit, with calsonic decals stolen from another kit to make a what if livery, Same paints as above, Two recaro race seats added (thanks to Sam) and fabric seatbelts also.

The R33 Gtr on the right is one i finished a good few years ago, but thought they all look good together.

An old build revisit for me, i built this about 2 years ago and was never happy with the decals or the clearcoat so i thought i would finish it off as it should be done. Totally new body, i was happy with the chassis a interior. Primed in Ultimate grey primer, Painted in Tamiya Ts-14, used the excellent S.K Decals on it and cleared in Mipa 2k clear.
