Suggestions for a Where Eagles Dare diorama

Post by xraymiller »

I have an idea for a diorama. I've ordered a 1/144 Ju-52 and a 1/72 Opel Blitz Omnibus, which is the closest thing I could find to the Graf & Stift OGW-120. Because of the scale difference, I was thinking of the plane being off in the distance with the bus about to crash through the fence. I have a few problems I haven't worked out yet.

1) I need 5 figures in 1/72 scale for the characters in the bus. All, or at least most, sitting.

2) I need a plow for the front of the bus. (I have a feeling I will be making that from scratch)

3) If possible, I would like the Nazi Eagle decal that was on the bus.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

A HO/OO (1/87) train plow might save some time.

For the figures it might be worth taking a look at the figure sets from Milicast

I think I may try to scratch build a plow out of wood for the shape, and then maybe putty. For the figures, I'll use whatever 1/72 figures I can find and re-position them. The eagle may be too hard to paint, but I don't see any online.

If you could get me some dimensions, I could probably 3d print a plow that work.
