I'm a little late to the party since you're already 2 months in to the Group Build. I just got back into modeling, and of all the kits I stocked up on, this is the only one that qualifies for the Cold War. Also, I have never used photo-etch before (I don't think it was around when I was a kid) and I'm finding that to be challenging. I also have a few issues.

The photo-etch is making the build go very slow.

I tried to use my Mr Fold it Photo Etch Bending Tool (right), but it doesn't have a very crisp edge for bending a millimeter thin piece. I've found the Small Shop Photoetch Cut-Off Set (left) works better as long as I put enough pressure on it. I would rather have something I can clamp it in that stays put. It's to easy for the part to move while I'm trying to hold it down at the same time I'm slipping a razor blade under the part.

I feel like I don't have the right tools. When I have to bend something on 4 sides like a box, that last side is usually blocked by the other sides. I end up having to use my pliers nose-in which makes the part look like I beat it with a ball-peen hammer. I've actually found the chisel to be the most useful.

One other thing, I was using Microscale Micro Metal Foil Adhesive, but a few parts easily fell off after I left it overnight. Was that the wrong thing to use? So now I'm back to using super glue.

But I will continue to press on and hopefully get it built by the end of August.
