Logging in

Post by barrythornton »

I know this has been mentioned before, I read it somewhere a while back,
but with the upcoming revamp, will the "remember me" part of the log in be fixed ?
If it`s got a Dragon or a Dwarf in it .....I`m out ! :pistols:

I've managed to get around it by bookmarking the "unread posts" page. That way it doesn't seem to log me out ever, and I never miss anything :thumb1:

The "Remember Me" function of the website will be unchanged. The ability for the site the keep a user logged in is based on the use of computer cookies. Many default browser settings prevent sites from keeping cookies past the browsing session in which they were created. One way to prevent this from happening is to make this site trusted. Generally, the security settings for trusted sites allow cookies to be written without expiring them when the browser is closed.

Each browser is a little different in how sites are added to the "trusted" list. If you have trouble or this doesn't work let me know.

One other thing is the starting link. I believe that the reason bookmarking the "unread posts" method works is that this page is secured and therefore begins with "https". If your main link is just "http" then the cookies will not work. Make sure that your main bookmark is for "https://intscalemodeller.com".

FYI trying to use the https:// secure connection results in an error.
It appears to be broken again.

Hmm, the certificate is still valid doesn't expire for more than a month. I will dig into this and see what I can find.
