This is what i intend to build for Paul and Sam's buddy build





































































































I thought i would do a build log here on the Forum has i couldn't find one of this kit.

What is interesting about this kit is that there are no chrome parts that need stripping.

Just a small progress report.
I have ordered a couple of ivory colours for this so while i wait i have made a start on the chassis

















I did notice that this part on the front axle may not be correct for the mounting hole has shown in the instructions or it could just be me but i decided to get it looking like the picture and working has the front axle is workable i drilled a 1.0mm hole all the way through this part.

Update
The chassis is now finished
It was primed in Ultimate gloss black apart from for the yellowish colour which was primed in grey.
Paints used are mainly ak xtreme metals white aluminium and chrome, flat black, mig brass and ak ivory.

Progress report
The interior of the cab is complete in grey and black with a little colour detail for the switches.

For the front wheel arches and lower bumper section I used Tamiya X-7 red and added Tamiya X-16 purple drop by drop until i was happy with the colour.

I wasn't happy with the colour or how the AK ivory colour went down on the cab, so i decanted some Tamiya TS47 chrome yellow that i had then clear coated using Alclad II gloss coat in preperation for the decals.

So here we are the home straight
The rear completed and decaled along with the cab
Only 1 error when i removed the masking from the front after painting the window edges 1 of the decals were distroyed, maybe i should have used a slightly thicker gloss coat.
It was left to dry for about a week so that is the ony thing i think happened.











All in all a nice build the only real problem was i had a little trouble getting the cab to sit level so there is a angled gap between the cab and the rear.

Looks great, but arrgghh that decal across the front, very frustrating I bet!

To my eye it looks as though the cab could be spaced up a little more, seems to be slanting backwards slightly?

the cab is slanting and that is the best fit i could make. There are 2 pins to articulate the cab which i couldn't grt in place no matter how i tried.
But hey that's how it goes sometimes.

Trucks in real life don't always sit perfectly either. I would just call it "authentic". I think it looks great!

That looks really good! The chrome finishes particularly look very true to life. You could easily put the decal thing down to the lorry having a scrape in real life I reckon. Cd you prop the cab a bit so it sits better?

I have made this model as well .
I am very glad about this model kit quality. Even small errors in the assembly manual, the assembly of this model was real pleasure.
Thanks Gas45 for detailed notes - it helped me to avoid some mistakes
According to my experience, Italeri kits are always good quality, only what they could improve is quality of the assembly manuals.
