Post by Styreneworx »

This is my finished Pz. Kpfw. G "Night Fighting Panther"

Products used:

Tank
Dragon 9045
ATAK zimmerit
MasterClub tracks
RB Model metal barrel and spent shellcasings
Eduard detail and sideskirts PE
Eureka tow-cables
Echelon decals
AFV Club fueldrum and pump
Royal Model stowage

Figures
Alpine LAH Grenadier, the Ardennes
Alpine German Panther Crew Set (Radiooperator)
Alpine Winter Panzer Crew

Diorama
Homemade Base
Airdrying clay
Fence mady with balsawood and cocktailsticks
Grass and leaves mainly by MiniNatur
Mud and Dirt are from AKs Diorama Series

Paint
Ultimate Primer
AK 1945 German Late War Colors
Vallejo Waffen-SS Camouflage Set
Vallejo gloss and matt clearcoats
Vallejo, Mig, AK and AK Xtreme Metal for details

Finishing products
Mig Washes and Pigments
AK burnishing fluid

Thoughts:
The kit was fine, but wasn't very detailed since its from their "Imperial Series" and shows its age. A few details had to be scratchbuild, such as complete detail on the inside of the radiooperators hatch. Atak zimmerit was nice to work with, but required a little modification to fit the old kit. Overall a nice build without any major complications, the only letdowns were the AK burnishing fluid, which just didn't work very well, and the AK colorset, that needed way too many layers to cover which i don't appreciate when doing camouflage.
