Oh I'm looking forward to this I recently added this kit to my stash

I am going to depict this aircraft as CireCooks VIII flown by Lt. McClellan Eric Sutton `Robbie` Robinson
Robinson McClellan Eric Sutton Lieutenant SAAF. No` 102531V

` Robbie ` Robinson was born in Johannesburg on 26th February 1919, joining the SAAF and undertaking an air gunner`s course before transferring to flying training. He was posted to 1 SAAF Squadron in August 1942, remaining with the unit for a year. On 14th July 1943 his Spitfire was shot down by a USAAF P-38, and he was obliged to bale out into the sea off the Sicilian coast, being rescued by a Greek destroyer. On 28th September 1943, he was awarded a DFC at the end of his tour and returned to the Union, becoming an instructor at 11 OTU, Waterkloof. On 14th November 1944 one of his pupils collided with his Kittyhawk, and he crashed to his death.

The name of his aircraft “ CireCooks “ is a combination of his name “ Eric “ being spelt backwards, and the nickname of his wife being “ Cooks “.

The engine is the only piece glued together. it was first painted in Ultimate black primer then a dry brush of citadle leadbelcher. Then using a stippling technique learnt from watching Gil ` RedDragonModelWerks `doing his games workshop Titan frame I applied citadel screaming bell followed by a small amount of citadel warplock bronze. a final dry brush of the leadbelcher was applied to bring back some of the highlights. once dry I thinned down a tiny amount of AK winter streaking grime and used it as a filter.

start of the cockpit base painted using Ultimate grey primer and MRP interior cockpit green. none of this is glued together ATM to give better access for detail painting.
