Gold Paint

Ok this question has probably been debated and answered many times over.

What is a good Gold Paint to use? either Airbrush or Brush Paint

Depending on how flat the area is you want to cover, and how often it would be handled, you might consider gold leaf.

Scale 75 is the best gold paint I have used. It’s mainly for mini painting but reakon will go through an airbrush.

I've had no problem airbrushing Tamiya X-12 Gold Leaf, have to mix it VERY well and thinned with X-20A it goes down no problem, just make sure you have good ventilation in the room as the particles seem to linger in the air more than most other paints I use.

I am no expert on which paints to use. The question comes down to how the flakes are. I hear that enamels are the best for metallic and gloss colors. Acrylics are hit or miss. The main issue with acrylic metallic colors is that the metallic flakes used in the paint can be out of scale for what you are painting. For me I prefer the acrylics as they are easier to clean, use and they don't smell. Also the flake size don't really matter as I build in the 48 and 32 scales.
