Decal setting solutions?

Hello guys,
Would like to buy a decal setting/softening solution.
Applied primarily over Alclad II Aqua gloss.
Any reccomendations?

It comes in different strengths. I mostly use micro , but resort to walthers solva set on stubborn ones like the Tamiya old types

Only ever used the 2 micro scale products and very happy with them. Little red and blue bottles = a happy modeller

I use Micro Set and Micro Sol generally, I have some Solvaset but I must admit I normally bypass that if the decals are being difficult and normally jump straight to X-20A

I might follow your example after my last Tamiya problem.

Hmmm... Micro set/sol seems the way to go.

I'm another advocate of using Tamiya X-20A when the microsol isn't man enough

I guess it's too late to chip in now, but I've found both Micro Sol and Tamiya Mark Fit strong work equally as well. Never had a problem with making a decal stick and conform, except with Academy's nightmarish decals. Never tried using just thinner on decals either, but I did stick some glue on one once. Can't recommend that.

I've always liked Daco setting solution. Comes in 3 strengths and has never failed me, even on the thickest decals. Never looked back.

Not seen that one over here. I just googled the site and I must say I was surprized that it comes in baby food jars. I don't think I like that...it doesn't seem right and a possible disaster in the making. It does seem to be really good from what I just read.

I generally use MicroSol & Set and wheel out the Daco Strong if needed - most notably on the aforementioned Academy decals.

Really impressed with how it's worked so far without destroying anything (there - that's screwed up the next kit )

Solva Set. Its wicked strong, so you have to be careful with it. But its the only thing I have found that can get old thick decals to work. On newer thin stuff like Caracal I back down to the Micro sol and set.
