dragon m3 75mm gun carriage

with 1 in paint, and 1 waiting for some weathering stuff it was time to crack open a new kit. for my building pleasure I will be building dragon's 75mm halftrack, with the eduard photo etch kit. paint will be ak real, painted as a USMC vehicle. stowage and extra machine guns as shown in the squadron's detail in action book.

dragon direction's, well we all know how they are I got most of the running gear together, and so far so good, most of the photo etch starts in the next couple of step's so that should slow things down quite a bit.

hi all
some progress has been made in the last few day's, photo etch definitely will slow you down. also have started to get some fit issue's as far as the sub assemblies aligning correctly. I've stopped following the direction's, they wanted everything built as subassemblies that wasn't going to work with the photo etch
but i endeavor to persevere.

got the gun finished up, and about had it with the photo etch . so i'm going to finish up replacing the detail i removed with the photo etch. for some thing's it's great, look at that jerry can holder. most of the work on the interior can't be seen . should get the details finished up in the next cou[le of day's, and the paint should be here middle of next week

hi all some long awaited stowage and machinegun's arrived today. built those up and did as much photo etch as I could stand, . i'm calling this one built. off to the paint booth for primer, and the first color coat tomorrow.

two big day's on the bench. primed yesterday, camouflage sprayed today, stowage brush painted and gloss coated. also got the track detail painted. gloss coat on the track tomorrow. brush painted with Vallejo model color. used mr color, and ak real colors for the first time thinned with mlt. I don't think I thinned enough and got some splattering. but pretty happy with the paint

I have some archer rub on vehicle codes. put one on the flat paint and it seemed to leave a little smutz behind. I went ahead and glossed it tonight and tomorrow we'll know if those transfer's should be done on a clear or flat coat

got a gloss coat sprayed with alclad aqua clear coat. tried some more of the archer transfers, they seem to prefer the flat coat they stick way better. did a dark brown wash with ak and a track wash with ak. chipping, bullet strikes, tomorrow.

started the weathering, some paint chipping, a little rust wash, and some streaking. also tried some oil's but have not quite figured those out yet. flat coated the interior, will finish the detail painting, and pigments. then finish up the exterior

thanks digger. ok got this one finished up i'm semi happy with the result's. had some serious fit issues with the cab to the bed. lost a few parts to the carpet monster did some photo etch which when visible can make a big difference like on the driver side the shovel has a photo etch clamp and the pick above it has the molded clamps. in the future I will chose wisely what photo etch I use. tried to fade the paint with oil's but i'm missing something with that so back to the drawing board. the ak paint seems pretty good and I plan on using a little bit more of that, so here's a pin the rest will be in my portfolio
