Scandinavia all the way?

Post by Tomcat64 »

Another thought for a SiG being bounced around was for a Scandinavian build - any scale, any subject so long as it was built in, or carried the markings of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. Some of these may fall into the upcoming Cold War GB but if there's enough interest we might be allowed to run a SiG for this as well.

I could stand to build a Stvr.103. Maybe even find something interesting that's Finnish in honor of my Finnish cousins (Yes, I do in fact have Finnish (half Scottish) cousins. Both are beautiful blondes (like their mother) who need only a little provocation to push your nose in).

I have a J29 and Draken I'd like to build. Though my participation in any SiG this year will heavily depend on time of year and my work schedule.

I'd be interested if I can fit it in... Grandparents are from Norway so I've been meaning to add something to my multi-national air-fleet! :-)

The choices should be "Kyllä" and "Ei", but as a Finn I would certainly be interested.

Thanks to everyone that's responded and voted so far - I'll leave the poll open for a few more weeks to gauge interest.

At this point I'm just seeing what level of interest there is for this, but in terms of some of the questions around timing I'm toying with the idea of running this from June to November - so longer than a traditional SiG - my thinking behind this is that it gives a decent overlap with the 2nd & 3rd official ISM group builds so hopefully people would be able to enter the GBs as well as this SiG without having to choose between them. It also means that we cover a couple of seasons so those people whose available time varies depending on the weather would also have a chance of joining.

We may have to juggle the timings a little dependent on when some of the other SiG ideas such as the Bombers take off as well but let me know what you think about that idea?
Cheers, Neil

Depends on when it starts and for how long it runs as I'm planning to make another entry in the car/bike GB and have signed up for Scotts bomber SIG as well. But could be fun as I've got several Danish Airforce F-16's, a Swedish Jas Gripen and a Finnish Stug in my stash.

I have a dozen or so ideas for armour from Scandinavia I'd like to build for this, but I'm not sure if I can wait long enough for a SiG to start. I'm also really bad at planning ahead.

Hej guys!

Yep happy to resurrect this one for next year if we get enough interest.

We could really do with a few more yes votes to make it viable as a SiG though so if anyone else is reading this that hasn't voted yet please sign up if you're interested :cheers2:

If we don't get enough for a full-blown Sig we could possibly put it up as a buddy build and see if anyone else joins along the way,

Having a couple of kits that will fit in to this!
A S-Tank (Strv 103)
A Volvo 240
And a couple of car kits wich have been driven by Swedish drivers....
Also thinking of a Draken, Viggen or Gripen
Have a 1/32 Hawker Hunter but only with British decales, maybe there is Swedish to find some where
