Revell 1/32 HE 219 A-2 build

Hello folks so I decided to make my first building thread ever! So the subjech is Revells rebox of 2012 He 219 in 32nd scale with Eduards BIG ED (and resin wheels maybe) the overall kit looks good and clasic Revell quality, some flash here and there, surface detail is good for my skills but i might attemt to add rivets for first time ever as its fairly big plane so there is room for some trial and error that wont ruin it. So stay tuned for updates and build progress.

So first update to this post.
As always work started on the cockpit area and forward gearbay.
The instructions how to attach seats on to the holders are bit unclear as are eduards instructions for PE seatbelt placement but thanks to Eduards site and photos of prototype it all made sense.
Also due PE panel sides of cockpit are seats fitted very tigtly.
The whole interior detail is replaced by 95% of PE rest is done with decals as PE replacement for some detail wasnt found neccesary by Eduard.
Glass on dials is replicated with a drop of gloss clear varnish.
Only things left to do are second set of seatbelts, left hand side wall, controll stick, decals, some minor detailing and weathering

For todays progress I finished and weathered the cockpit, i used sponge technique to add chips of silver on to the metal parts and i also added stress marks and scratches on to the cushions by brush. Then i enclosed the whole assembly in to the fuselage along 160 grams of lead as counter weight behind it. 70 grams extra
Now on o the wings and gearbay!

Im going for sligtly different camo, only difference is that it has left underside of wing painted black and spirals on the prop. cones. So its not so monotone.
Ill get up the scheme when i get home.

Hello folks!
So work for past few days was mainly focused on the left wing.
As you can see there is a lot of filler and rescribing needed also ill get book that Tim shoved on life from a friend of mine that got it in possesion so also s*** ton of riveting ahead of me. Im also using refence from War Thunder to get the flaps rigt as the instructions arent so clear abaut their placement and suprise suprise they are shown attached wrong in the end! also im considering at this time to convert it in from A2 to A7 version as it would require only to scratch build tail radar antena and decals for it or maybe homemade mask for letters and nubers witch shouldnt be so hard to do in this scale.


Putty aplied with some of sanding already done on underside.




The result of two days of repeated sanding putying and priming, for some reason i cant get seam on the front undeside gone but its visible only under certain degree and since it wont be seen unless you look at it from under ill dont bother with it anymore.

Here it is compared to another model from Revell the ME 262 B1/U1 also in 32nd with wing span of 39Cm.

Heelo people of the forum im here with little update.
So after a week of work i can say i have the left wing done. It required a lot of filling, sanding and rescribing in order to make it look good and im glad i got Eduards BIG ED set as the proces removed some panel detail that would be pain in the butt to recreate! Also i added PE to the gearbay area also ill add wiring and tubing inside when i get reference book. Now on to the right wing then fulseage!

Little update on the build. After tons of sanding i got relieved i dont have to spend same amuant of time on right wing as on the left one, also sanded down all the seams on fulseage. Now i have to do bit of rescribing and riveting on all surfaces. And while i got sick of sanding for a while i started working on landing gear. I was sceptical if the legs will hold the weight of the plane and had fear of them snapping but the desing of these is realy good by german engineers as they hold it even only dry fitted with 320 grams of counter weight, 160 behind cocpit and 80 in each engine area. (Its more then a duble of required weight)
Also ordered resin engine cowls and wheels.

Hello folks after longer time i have some more peogress to share with you all!
So i decided to convert A-0/2 to A7 thus i need to make slight modifications.
Also resin wheels and resin engine cowls have arrived so i now have all aftermarket i could find for this bird.
These tail parts werent mirroved so i corrected that issue and filled holes on oposite sides and aplied pe

Also started to shape this bump on the tail.
And corrected shape of wing above flaps with sheet of brass.

Also decided to make a little diorama for owl.
