Kiwigav's Calsonic Skyline R34

Hi all I started this kit over chiristmas and soon realised I should have waited for the Wheels GB to start.

Here are photos of what I have got done so far. All blue parts painted with Tamiya TS44 decanted and thinned with Mr Hobby Levelling Thinner, about 10% thinner added, It really makes a big difference.

Made a start on detail painting, but this project has taken a back seat to my Aoshima Nissan Fairlady Z33 Top Secret edition (link in signature)

Don’t worry about when you finish it, just take your time and follow through with it
They build up fantastically and yours will too
The use of MLT to basically all the paints I need to thin for spraying HAS ABSOLUTELY been a game changer for my modelling
You have an Apex AB now as well, so that is a good all around workhorse of a sprayer...and easy to clean! Another good move

I am assuming you are just as busy as me and having trouble finding time to model
Have had a serious mojo hit and a bit of a bad back to screw me up for the end of the year

Hi all as its a long weekend here down under I got a bit done on the Skyline.
Body decals done just need to 2k gloss and get back to the chassis. Had to take my time on decals as I tend to be clumsy and not be careful about where I place my fingers when holding model. 5 part calsonic on grill the most challenging.

Looks great....Skylines build up very well.

OK got some gloss down and very happy with the results.
The gloss is Gravity 2k 3 coats. 1st is a semi wet tac coat, 2nd and 3rd are good wet coats.
Did a mock up on chassis. Some detail work to do now.

Calling this done.
Really enjoyed this build and my best car build to date. Very pleased with the outcome, just a little mark on clear window on the inside as I didn't polish it properly...but oh well it looks cool.

• Body colour - Tamiya TS44 decanted and thined with MLT

• Clear Coat - Gravity Colours 2K

• Black, Semigloss Black and Flat blacks by Tamiya Lacquer thinned 50/50 with MLT

• Other paints were AK Xtreme Metal Range

Trying a new photo backdrop this time round, looks good so will print another and mount it into a photo backdrop for future photos
