Decanted Tamiya TS paints

Post by Steveo535 »

Hi All

For the first time today I've decanted some Tamiya TS paint ready for spraying on to my Toyota Corolla Rally Car body and just wondered do you need to shake it up before spraying it or can you just use it as is.

Sorry if this is a school boy question but this is the first car model for a while and I have never used decanted paint before.

Cheers Steven

As you just decanted it today then its probably good to go if you shook it up before you decanted it. If you left if for a period of time, I would stir/shake/mix it.

Btw you can just decant straight into an airbrush via a straw if you want. I do this all the time. No need to store the paint outside of the spray can.

Please watch Paul’s video on doing this, it is so simple
The biggest mistake is not letting it gas off for a while before closing a lid on the paint.
It can be very foamy and even break glass
So I leave it overnight and then cap it. Yes you need to mix it after that like normal paint and a touch of MLT makes it spray perfectly
