Gloss question ? 2k over 1k

Hi guys , would anyone know if its ok to lay down zero 1k gloss as a base for decaling then use zero 2k gloss finnish on top when dry , reason being I'm doing the aeg merc c9 and there is a huge amount of decals and worried about silvering , must add I've got zero 1k but need to order the 2k ,

Bit long winded but can I 1k then decal then 2k.
