Well Scot, I would be interested. Presently I have nothing as I am building my 1st build but I know I can convince my wife to let me get a kit as she is a big Star Wars and Hobbit fan. I made this for her,

By a company called Metal Earth. They start a flat sheets and you bend and form to shape. I am thinking X-wing, falcoon, something from Star Wars line. I will talk to the boss later tonight but by June is no issue.

LOL. Thanks Scott. 7/8 Irish and 1/8 French Canadian accordioning to my mother. My wife and I visited the LHS last night, it was next door to her favorite book store where she purchased ~ 10 books on sale. Looks like a TIE Interceptor for me. But I found this puzzle and will be building this also
Image
and yes I will paint the wood. It say 12 and up so Ii think I qualify :

I would not want Darth to come give me an abject lesson

Seems to be a more and more of these wooden wonders popping up. I was only last weekend looking a steam train that had working gears in it ( not cheap ), but it did resemble the real thing not realistically though. Still it was very clever and had some pull on the heart. My wallet won though !

Digger are you talking about the UGears V-express steam train? I have and built this monster. Took ~ 40 hrs & yes it does move both forward and backward

Looks like it could be a real mix of kits in terms of materials. As Han said to Leia after she snogged her brother, variety is the spice of life Princess!
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Yep that's the one, 40 hrs is a lot of time. Were the wooden pieces a little tight and needed a bit of gentle eezing ?

They are laser cut on thin plywood. Held to the plywood with one or two tits like the sprue. You just have to trim. small amount of sanding in some spots where they use as running gear and lots of waxing. They include some candle wax. The only tool I needed was my small Xacto knife to help remove from the plywood trees. Now cutting and timing the rubber bands can be a chore. Some of the rubber bands had to be shortened to work right and tying that knot was a chore! But yes some of the parts are a very tight fit and you have to resist the "Force the fatherless person" to fit syndrome :jd: FYI you can d/l the PDF instruction file from UGears at least the USA site has them. I do have a copy if you want them.

I've often wondered if there's any way of trying to replicate the purple lightning effect so if any of the more adept lighting bugs out there have any ideas please feel free to share as I've got a couple of Eagles to play with :)

Tomcat64, that is way cool!

Scott yes Tesla coils are the way to go. Speaking of which, I watched "Mysteries of the Abandon" on the tube..... Russia built one that threw an arc like WOW! Abandon when Chernobyl went nuts as they we're the power source.
Do not know if this cut and past will work but it from season 1

I'm guessing same conditions apply for SIG builds as in GB :) Otherwise I'd throw my Auxiliary warp generator with static warp core polarity and axionic transport resonators into the ring. :)

She's a little more than 25% captain :)

I need to pay more attention! Yeah I’m definitely in for this one. Are we talking any sci-fi
Subject or is it just ships?

My only problem (being an old fart) is I have a (Gil Gerard) Buck Rodgers in the 25th
Century thunder fighter, some original BSG vipers. Oh oh and a last starfighter gunstar 1 :boom:

Errr sorry about that..... are figures ok too?

:cheers2:

Well my Aussie friend step on in and join the silliness
Modelfreek is Space Cadet #19

Any Sci Fi subject is open game...figures, ships etc etc
Same rules as the bomber sig and all the others...new kit, scratch is ok
Buck Rodgers is fine, Wilma Deering was interesting as a pre teen but didn’t quite know why at the time
If yo are worried about a subject just post it or PM me
Awesome to have you aboard mate :thumb2: :D

Subjects are wide open wrt Sci Fi...Marvel figures, Gundam robots, Lord of the Rings. More than Star Wars is Fine
If you have worries about your topic, just PM me and Judge Dred on the committee shall determine its appropriateness
I will run this just like the bomber sig, same rules and we will do a RANDOM LAUNCH DRAW when projects get started.

Hi Mark
Yes it does have to be an unstarted kit...same rules as for all the other ISM sigs and GB’s
There is tons of time for you to join and find a little SciFi side project ;)
Let me know mate :thumb2:
