Polishing question

Post by jmurphy18 »

Folks
I have a question for you experienced molders :). I just laid down 5 coats of X-22 on my Nissan R-34. Now waiting the 7 days for it to cure. What I would like is an opinion of what to use to buff the clear. I do detail cars, family and friends, so I have some Chemical Guys compounds in my garage. What I have is X-38 Final Polish, X-36 Compound, X-34 Compound and X-32. The smaller the number the courser the compound, X-32 is pretty hard on a car body
From Chemical Guys site : Test the heavier V32 and V34 compounds on deep scratches, intense swirl marks, and oxidation to remove severe damage and restore reflection to the paint. After compounding, or when dealing with lighter swirl marks on a newer car, test out V36 and V38 to refine the gloss, shine, and clarity of the painted finish.
Should I use this or should I buy some Novus Plastic polish?

Thank you
John

I can answer my own question. I forgot to purchase some Novas polish so I just used the Chemical Guys V-36 to start, V-38 to polish and Butter Wet Wax as a wax on the car body and I will say it does look excellent in my opinion. Just FYI

Thank you Kev! Tamiya X-22 ~4 coats with X-20A thinner. That is all that is available around here. I have an Ultimate order in limbo somewhere. Not from Paul, Strikeforce hobbies to clarify
