AK's perfect cleaner

Post by Garion77 »

Hi all ! Cans someone tell me what this product is for exactly ?? I was given a bottle... and when reading the label or ak's site, seems like a general cleaner for everything and/or airbrush cleaner ?

And on another subject, as anyone tried tamiya's airbrush cleaner ? Is it any good ? I'm trying to find another alternative to Ultimate because it's not always easy to get it for me with the shipping cost

Hi Francis, is the bottle of Perfect Cleaner with a dark pink label? I believe this is a general cleaner for acrylic paints. They claim it's for airbrushes and hairy sticks, but I've never used it myself, so don't know how good it is. As for Tamiya's cleaner, never used that either, but usually, their stuff is pretty good. I'm fortunate enough to be able to get Ultimate cleaner as and when I need it. Maybe bulk shipping might be more cost effective. You can sometimes get a good deal if you're the shipper and you arrange to collect. Just a thought.

Bonjour mon ami :D

Hope all is well with you and your pups

I looked up that AK cleaner. This is their blurb on it's usage:
Cleaning solution designed for removing acrylics from brushes and airbrushes. Non-toxic. It can also function as a lubricant when you want to leave and rest your airbrush for a couple of hours and want to keep the needle clean.

So to me it is a brush cleaner and airbrush cleaner, that is a general paint cleaner for acrylics..similar to Ultimate's airbrush Cleaner
I use Ultimate cleaner in the same way, leaving a tiny bit in my airbrushes to keep things ready to spray after I clean them and hang them up on the holder.

Have you tried IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol)? About $35 for 4 litres from Amazon based on a very quick search, probably cheaper elsewhere. Will clean acrylic paint from pretty much anything and won't damage your brushes/airbrush.
