Fugitive Miniature - Geisha Hiroko

This is my third entry into the figure GB.
She's Hiroko, so named by her creator the owner of Fugitive Miniatures.
I know where the name comes from so I'm going to keep it

It's a spectacular piece of moulding and I'll certainly enjoy working on her.








I'll probably be starting her sometime in November, depending on how clear the bench is.

The face looks a little off to me but might just be the lack of paint.

I find that happens a lot with figures. They always look a bit odd until there's a bit of primer or face paint on it.

Your testing your skills now mate. I have not even mastered the caucasian western skin tone yet and here is you attempting an oriental / asian skin tone.

Will be interested to see how you do it and what skin tone paints you use.

Your third figure! But what a corker. Another one to look forward to.

The build is six months long, I wanted to make sure that I'd be building something on topic all throughout it.
I have no idea how long it will take me to knock one of these out so I figured three with fill the time.
I also wanted something that IF.. I managed to slap some paint on these things the right way they'd look nice on the self outside the man cave.

This will be a nice piece for display in any room, besides she might look a little out of place next to all those tanks in the den.

So here's a bit of a vid that I did a couple of days ago.
I've started construction of Hiroko, she's going together better than most of the other resin kits that I've done.
Hopefully I'll have the construction done and she'll be primed by the end of the weekend.

Mostly. There's a few tiny bits and pieces that need tending and a bit of clean up.
Hopfully by the weekend she'll have some primer on her.

It's been ages since I've posted anything about Hiroko, and almost as long since I've done any work on her.
She certainly wasn't gone nor forgotten, just scary.
She's not like anything that I've done before so she intimidated the hell outa me.

So I'll show a photo montage of sorts of what's been done since the last post. Mostly covering the work from several months ago.
The last few shots are of last night's work.
I plan on finishing her before the end of this month.

Then about 4 months went by without me touching her, I was stuck.
I didn't know what colours that I wanted to use. I hated the yellow, but loved the blue.
Last week I decided that it was time to finish her
So last night I finally sat down with her and spent 8 hours messing around.
I finally got most of the base colours the way that I want them. I still need to figure out her footwear, but the rest of cool for me now.




More refinement of the face and clothing.



There's still quite a bit more to do to her yet, but the mojo has returned and doing something different for a few days has got me jazzed.

More base coating and some details.
She's almost ready for he next phase... whatever that is. haha..
Before you ask, she's got a Kabuki mask instead of an all over white because I liked the look better.
I wanted more skin tones showing than there would be if she had the all over white.











Then another layer of colour and more details.















I'm a bit stuck now. I'm probably going to do some highlights and then work on the shadows next... or the other way around.

Just a small update. While I'm stuck as to how I want to proceed with Hiroko, I decided to build a base for her. A simple picture frame, some DAS, popcicle sticks and some dried baby's breath and I'm hoping it will be an oriental garden.
I'll blend the base that she came with into the base and hopefully it will transition well.
The baby's breath I'll be painting a light pinkish colour to represent cherry blossoms. Then I'll build a small rock curb and sand path for her to stand on.
Hopefully it will work.

Though I may skip the first... umm dude... I like the look of the second one. She's more modern than what I was going for though. Still that colour around the eyes is pretty cool.

One thing I'm not is a figure painter. I'm terrible at it actually. :O
One way to change that is to paint figures. Lots of them.
